Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan Levitt.
Evan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story begins with a pivotal turning point—getting clean and sober in 1998. That decision reshaped my life, giving me the clarity and discipline to move forward with purpose.
In the early 2000s, I was living and working in New York City during 9/11—an experience that left an indelible mark on me. Witnessing the chaos, resilience, and sacrifice of that day deepened my understanding of preparedness, response, and the critical need for capable individuals in times of crisis.
But the true defining moment came later when a close friend was in a motorcycle accident, and I was one of the first people on the scene. I had no first aid training, no way to truly help—just a profound sense of helplessness. That feeling stuck with me. I knew I never wanted to be in a situation like that again, unprepared and unable to assist when someone’s life was on the line.
That experience set me on a path—one that led to a career in security, emergency response, and protective services. I immersed myself in training, learning everything I could about life-saving interventions, risk mitigation, and protective operations. What started as a personal mission evolved into a professional calling—ensuring that people and organizations have the tools, training, and mindset needed to respond effectively to any crisis.
Today, as the CEO of Alexios Security Solutions, my focus remains the same: empowering individuals and organizations to take control of their safety. Because when the moment comes, and someone’s life is on the line, being prepared isn’t an option—it’s a responsibility.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Growth—both personally and professionally—comes with challenges, and I’ve had my share.
Early on, getting clean and sober in 1998 was one of the hardest but most necessary things I ever did. It required a complete shift in mindset, discipline, and a willingness to rebuild my life from the ground up. That journey taught me resilience, but it also came with setbacks and moments of doubt.
Building a career in security, emergency response, and protective services wasn’t easy either. After my friend’s motorcycle accident, I was determined to never feel helpless again, but I had no formal training at the time. I had to start from scratch—learning new skills, proving myself in an industry that demands expertise and trust, and constantly pushing myself to grow.
Living and working in New York City during 9/11 was another defining moment. It reinforced the reality that chaos can strike at any time, and it deepened my commitment to preparedness. But that experience also came with emotional weight—seeing firsthand the devastation and understanding that safety is never guaranteed made me even more determined to be part of the solution.
As I moved forward in my career and eventually built Alexios Security Solutions, there were the usual struggles that come with business—navigating growth, managing teams, and ensuring that our services truly make an impact. But the biggest challenge has always been changing the mindset around security. Too often, people and organizations don’t prioritize safety until after a crisis occurs. Shifting that perspective—helping others see that preparation isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity—has been a challenge, but it’s also what drives me every day.
Despite the obstacles, I wouldn’t change a thing. Every struggle reinforced my purpose, and every setback made me stronger. The road hasn’t been smooth, but that’s exactly what prepared me for this work.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
A big part of my work goes beyond security—it’s about building stronger, safer communities. While my expertise lies in security, emergency response, and protective services, my passion is in giving back and making a real impact where it’s needed most.
One of the ways I do this is through community-driven initiatives like the Dreamscape Initiative, which focuses on social and economic development in underserved areas. Through education, philanthropy, and humanitarian efforts, Dreamscape isn’t just about offering help—it’s about providing long-term solutions that empower people and create opportunities for a better future.
Another organization close to my heart is Sunshine Nevada, which provides experiences, support, and resources for children with special needs. Seeing the impact of this work firsthand is a constant reminder that security isn’t just about physical protection—it’s about ensuring that every person, especially those who are often overlooked, has access to a safe, supportive environment where they can thrive.
What sets me apart, and what I’m most proud of, is that I don’t just work in security—I apply those principles to real-world community issues. Whether it’s training schools to handle emergencies, advocating for safety in underserved communities, or using my resources to support those in need, the mission is always the same: to protect, uplift, and empower.
I believe true leadership is about taking action. It’s not just about what you do in business, but what you do for the people around you. And for me, that means using my knowledge, experience, and resources to make a tangible difference in the lives of others—whether through security, mentorship, or community-driven initiatives.
That’s the legacy I want to build.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that preparation and action separate those who make a difference from those who stand by, hoping for the best.
Early in my journey, I experienced what it felt like to be unprepared. When my friend was in a motorcycle accident, I was there, but I couldn’t help. That moment stayed with me and became a driving force behind everything I do. It reinforced the idea that in critical situations—whether in life, business, or security—waiting for someone else to step up isn’t an option. You have to be ready, willing, and capable of taking action.
I’ve also learned that real leadership is about service. Success isn’t just about what you achieve for yourself—it’s about how much impact you have on others. Whether it’s training teams, mentoring the next generation, or supporting community initiatives, the greatest fulfillment comes from using your skills and experiences to help others succeed.
Another hard but necessary lesson has been the importance of resilience. The path isn’t always easy. There have been setbacks, moments of doubt, and situations that tested me. But every challenge reinforced my belief that persistence, adaptability, and an unshakable commitment to the mission are what keep you moving forward.
At the end of the day, the biggest lesson is this: you don’t rise to the occasion—you fall to the level of your training and preparation. That applies to security, leadership, and life. The more you invest in yourself, your skills, and your purpose, the more prepared you are to make a real impact when it matters most.
