Today we’d like to introduce you to Elina Lukas.
Elina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started painting when I was very young, and learned the traditional methods of watercolour, acrylic and oil painting. My love for art renewed a few years ago when I decided to give digital art a go – and it’s been a great journey since.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I think that no creative journey is truly smooth. I often come across doubts in my abilities and my skills. But I find that the more I practice and the more I love my own work, the easier it gets.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a digital abstract artist that creates dreamy, etherial worlds. I use carefully selected colour combinations to create illusions and a feel of mystery.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I read a lot of fiction and it helps keep my brain sharp and inspired. I especially love Japanese and Korean authors – their work is so simple yet memorable and profound, just as I hope my paintings will be one day.
