Today we’d like to introduce you to Delilah Dominguez

Hi Delilah , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

Growing up my parents owned a Greenhouse in Brooklyn. They sold mostly seasonal items like house plants, bouquets, pumpkins, Christmas trees and all types of gardening accessories. I graduated from the University of Central Florida with my Bachelors Degree in Business. After working 2 years in the finance department of Orlando Health Hospital I decided to move back to New York. I freelanced for floral design companies and fell involve with floristry. Ive had the opportunity to work with many talented florist and business owners. I was inspired to open my own Flower shop in February of 2020. A month before the pandemic. I had to be very flexible and willing to navigate a very difficult time for many business owners. I’m glad I did not give up. I have been in business ever since. There were many growing pains and still so much to learn and apply. I have had the opportunity to work with many lovely clients. I have also had the opportunity to work with brands like Amazon, Kate Spade and Puma to name a few. Today Stolen Magnolia is a Floral design studio that offers flowers for all events and occasions. The studio operates as a retail space Thursday through Sunday. You can find plants, blooms and botanical goods.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

Owning a business has been quite an adventure. I am continually learning as I grow. I struggled the most with asking for help. Being a small business owner means you have many roles within your business but that doesn’t mean you should play each and every role. Understanding it is ok to ask for help or say no to anything I feel doesn’t align with my business is crucial. I hired trusted professionals to help in areas I needed the most help with. I have hired an accountant, lawyer and mentor to help me maintain a healthy balance within my business. Most importantly to help protect my business as it continues to grow. I am also very grateful for all of my peers in the floral industry who are supportive and always willing to help.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

Stolen Magnolia specializes in bespoke floral creations. We create designs for all types of occasions. Whether it be for weddings, celebrations or corporate events. We build everything from personal flowers like bridal bouquets to large scale installations. No two clients are the same. I am most proud of our floral creations. We work closely with our clients to bring their vision to life. I am honored our clients trust my team and I in doing so.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?

My favorite childhood memory would be anytime spent in the Greenhouse with my family. In the summer we would climb all over the packages of potting soil. In the winter we would help my dad shake the trees open. I also learned how to ride my bike in the Greenhouse.
