Hi Deanna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?

This question can lead to a multitude of stories, but let’s focus on the birth of the Label Free Podcast and how it came to be. My life has been anything but easy, marked by abuse, negligent parents, trauma, and significant loss. Despite these challenges, I refused to let them define me. I have always picked myself up and kept moving forward, never losing sight of my dreams.

After years of pursuing my dream of becoming a fashion designer, I found myself at a crossroads in June 2019. The fashion industry had not panned out as I hoped, and I was searching for a new direction. It was then that I stumbled upon the concept of podcasting by an email. I had no prior knowledge of what a podcast was or how to start one, but I felt an urgent need to share my message with the world.

Throughout my life, I carried many labels—victim of abuse, not good enough, widow, and more. These labels weighed heavily on me, but I was determined to shed them. After discussing my ideas with my best friend and cousin, the Label Free Podcast was born. The tagline “To Live Your Best Life, Live Label Free” encapsulated my vision perfectly.

The journey has not been easy, but I believe I started at the right time. Over the past five years, I have honed my craft, built my brand, and spread my message. The label-free philosophy has resonated with people around the world, and today, I am proud to be one of the top podcasters globally.

I am currently working on expanding my reach by setting up to stream on platforms like Apple TV, Amazon Fire, ROKU, and many more. This next step will elevate my message to a whole new level, and I am excited for what the future holds.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Being a creator and an artist is hard. While many people appreciate your message, they often don’t see it as worthy of financial support. I have personally financed the growth of my show, developing offerings for potential guests that not only highlight them but also reinvest in the show’s growth and visibility.

I no longer offer free guest spots, which I know is still fairly controversial to many people, but I don’t care. I have built my show to where it is today through hard work and dedication. I invest in multiple platforms, press releases, Google ads, and more to support my guests. I’ve curated my own proprietary promotional process to ensure my guests get as much exposure as possible.

I see what I offer as a service. As a globally rated podcaster, I believe that unless heavily financed by a sponsor, creators at this level have every right to charge a fee for their services. I have been fortunate to have hundreds of guests who support the show, and I am grateful for their trust and collaboration.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

I am the founder and host of the globally rated Label Free Podcast, where I specialize in creating impactful and dynamic conversations with my guests. Each episode involves a rigorous promotional process that demands a lot of creativity. In a world full of creators, we all bring something unique to the table. I am a creator of self-love and acceptance, a creator of change, and a creator of freedom.

On my show, I uncover the truth and the raw experiences people go through to find their purpose and live a life free of societal “labels.” I am incredibly proud of staying true to myself and my message throughout this journey. What sets me apart is my unapologetic authenticity. What you see is what you get, and I believe that resonates deeply with my audience.

What are your plans for the future?

Woo-hoo, we have a lot of exciting plans in the works! As I mentioned earlier, we’re gearing up to stream on Apple TV, Amazon Fire, ROKU, Samsung, LG, and more. We’re joining a network with a captive audience of 9 million people, which will significantly boost our engagement and visibility. Our episodes will be evergreen on the network, ensuring continuous exposure. I’m super pumped for this next phase!

In addition, I’m rolling out my Confidence Coaching program specifically for women. I’ve been told my whole life that I command respect and possess a unique confidence. I aim to empower those who need a dose of what I have to teach.

There are so many moving parts to what we have going on, it’s hard to highlight them all. We are busy and continue to build the Label Free brand!
