Today we’d like to introduce you to Britt Vasina
Hi Britt, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2019, I decided to make a pivotal life change. I left Atlanta and moved to Portland, Oregon. I was drawn to the cooler climate and natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Living just an hour away from both the coast and the mountains, I found so much peace and inspiration in nature. My mini-bernedoodle, Walter, and I love to explore the outdoors, and this new environment breathed fresh life into my creative pursuits.
I’ve always had a passion for creative expression, but it wasn’t until 2016 that I started sharing my art on Instagram. As a self-taught artist, I love the freedom and spontaneity of creating without boundaries with my creative business Britt Vasina Studio. My art reflects this, with each piece full of energy and movement.
In 2023, I launched Rose City Jewels, specializing in bespoke, permanent jewelry. This venture allowed me to blend my love for craftsmanship with my business skills, creating unique pieces in person.
At the beginning of 2024, I reached a pivotal point in my career. With over 14 years of consulting experience and a growing passion for entrepreneurship, I shifted focus on my ventures full-time. In March of this year, I launched my consulting business, offering specialized services in business and technology consulting, Squarespace web design, brand strategy, and process optimization. This consultancy allows me to use my extensive experience to help businesses navigate their transformations while continuing to nurture my creative passions.
Today, my career is a unique blend of strategic consultancy, art, and entrepreneurial ventures. Each aspect of my work enriches the other, creating a dynamic and fulfilling professional life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Moving to Portland, Oregon, where I didn’t know anyone, came with its own set of challenges. It was daunting at first, but I gradually built a community and have madethe best friends here. The COVID-19 pandemic was another significant hurdle. Before the pandemic, my consulting life involved traveling cross-country each week to client sites. When COVID hit, I had to shift to working from home full time, which was a big adjustment but also a blessing in disguise. The pandemic made me rethink my values and what I want out of life. I found a new appreciation for the balance and autonomy of working from home, which allowed me to focus more on my passions and personal growth. This period of reflection and change was instrumental in shaping my decision to embrace full-time entrepreneurship and pursue my creative and business ventures more deeply.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work as an artist revolves around creating visually captivating abstract artworks that invite viewers to explore their own interpretations. I specialize in using acrylic and watercolor paints, often experimenting with color combinations and bold textures to convey a sense of movement and depth.
I am most proud my commitment to environmental conservation as a 1% for the Planet Business Partner highlights my dedication to using art as a means to give back to the community and promote sustainability.
My work has been showcased in several exhibitions, including a Scott Brothers release at Living Spaces and sold in Kirklands. This exposure has allowed me to reach a diverse audience and further establish my presence in the art world.
Overall, what sets my art apart is the blend of my life experiences, the inspiration I draw from nature, and my dedication to evolving my craft.
