Today we’d like to introduce you to Brielle Gibson
Hi Brielle , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Early Beginnings:
Growing up, I always felt drawn to the vibrant colors, unique textures, and the sheer creativity of fashion. As a child, I would spend hours sketching dress designs in fashion booklets and experimenting with different styles from my wardrobe. Fashion was more than just clothing; it was a form of art and a way to express my personality. I remember how wearing certain outfits made me feel confident and empowered, baby nobody could tell me nothing , okay!
Influence of Role Models:
My inspiration came from various sources—fashion icons in magazines, stylish family members, and even the unique fashion sense of characters in films and books. These influences helped me understand the power of fashion in shaping perceptions and the importance of personal style. I admired how people used clothing to tell stories about who they were and what they believed in.
A Turning Point:
The real turning point came during high school when I participated in a local fashion shoot. Designing and showcasing my creations was exhilarating. The positive feedback and the joy of seeing my ideas come to life solidified my desire to pursue a career in fashion. It was then that I realized fashion wasn’t just a hobby; it was my passion and a potential career path.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nothing in this life is easy and everything has to be worked for especially in the fashion world. You’re working 10x harder to be recognized. I think all people in the fashion industry struggle with the few things i’m gonna bring up that caused me to struggle and take steps backwards.
High Competition:
The fashion industry is notoriously competitive, with many talented individuals vying for limited opportunities. Breaking into the industry can be difficult, especially for new designers and brands, due to the established presence of well-known labels and the need for strong networking connections.
Financial Challenges:
Starting a fashion line or maintaining a fashion business requires significant financial investment. From sourcing materials to production and marketing, costs can quickly add up.
Fast Fashion and Sustainability:
The rise of fast fashion has created ethical and environmental concerns. Designers and brands are increasingly pressured to produce new collections rapidly, often compromising on quality and sustainability.
Pressure to Stay Relevant:
Fashion trends are constantly changing, and there is immense pressure on designers and brands to stay ahead of the curve, as well as stress related to maintaining a consistent brand identity while innovating to keep up with consumer demands.
Supply Chain and Production Issues:
Managing the logistics of production, including sourcing materials, manufacturing, and distribution, can be complex and challenging. Delays, quality control issues, and disruptions in the supply chain can affect timelines and profitability.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Three of the main things i do are personal styling ,image consultants, event styling, and virtual styling. In my opinion i am most known for how i dress myself . My swag is unmatched, i mean im literally known for my swag honestly lol. One of the main reasons i still have social media is so that i can give the people fashion updates on my new style . I am most proud of myself for never changing my style to fit in with others or whatever is trending at the moment. I always ride my own wave and i think that’s important for people to do. Just because mesh jumpsuits are in doesn’t mean we need to drag that trend , let’s be different and stand out. Something that sets me apart from others is how i change my style , it’s very rare that you will see my wear the same concept over and over i’m really a one and done kinda girl. Love to mitch and match but im definitely not re wearing an outfit. #sorrynotsorry
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Ummm let’s see because i’m pretty open with everything but people may not know that i do love to work with kids. I absolutely love children and I plan on opening up my own daycare center .
I’ve always had a deep love for children and a passion for nurturing their growth and development. Watching kids learn, explore, and express themselves brings me immense joy and fulfillment. This passion has inspired me to create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where children can thrive—leading me to pursue opening a daycare.
Opening a daycare allows me to combine my love for children with my desire to provide quality care and education. I want to create a space where children feel loved, valued, and encouraged to be themselves. I believe in fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere that supports each child’s unique needs and potential.
Ultimately, my vision for the daycare is to be a place where children can grow, explore, and build confidence, setting a strong foundation for their future. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the well-being and happiness of children and their families through this experience.
