Today we’d like to introduce you to Bash Luks.
Hi Bash, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Bashir Lukonge, professionally known as Bash Luks, an artist, actor, record producer, and community activist from Uganda. My passion for music was inspired by my family and iconic artists like Michael Jackson, Madoxx Ssemanda Sematimba, and Lucky Dube. I began my musical journey in school through Music, Dance, and Drama programs. In 2020, I launched my professional career with my debut song, “Nkubwamu,” featuring Jim Siizer.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One area that presents a difficulty for me is the aspect of promoting my work. Nevertheless, I am continuously making headway in this regard by consistently devising strategies and proactively planning for the future.

I am a music artist, actor, and community activist. My work encompasses a variety of creative expressions, primarily focusing on music that resonates with social issues and community engagement. I specialize in blending genres to create unique sounds, and I am known for my thought-provoking lyrics and dynamic performances.
One of my proudest achievements is my involvement in community initiatives that aim to uplift and empower marginalized voices through art. What sets me apart from others is my commitment to using my platform not only for entertainment but also to advocate for social change and inspire others to get involved in their communities.
How do you think about luck?
Luck has played a significant role in my life and career, influencing both my successes and challenges. I’ve experienced moments of amazing fortune that opened doors for me, as well as instances of bad luck that taught me resilience and determination. Each experience, good or bad, has shaped the artist, actor, and activist I am today.
