Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Franklin.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It all started during one of the toughest times in my life. I’m a healthcare worker, and in the early days of COVID, I was on the frontlines, taking care of patients. But then I got hit hard—I contracted COVID myself and was out of work for a while. It was scary, isolating, and honestly, a wake-up call. During my recovery, I needed something to keep my mind busy and my spirits up. That’s when I started experimenting with fabric, making little bows for my daughters, Addi and Amelia.
At first, it was just for fun—something creative to do while I healed. But then I saw how much joy these tiny creations brought to my girls and realized there was something special there. One bow led to another, and before I knew it, Lovehearted Kiddos was born.
Balancing my healthcare job and this newfound passion wasn’t easy, but those bows gave me a sense of purpose and hope during such a chaotic time. Today, Lovehearted Kiddos is a celebration of that hope and love—a reminder that even in the hardest moments, something beautiful can grow. Every fabric print I choose and every bow I create is made with love, inspired by my daughters and the resilience that got me through.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Trying to figure out how to run a business while raising two little girls, being a wife and working full-time. Spoiler alert: it was chaos.
One of the biggest struggles was finding the time and energy to pour into this dream. There were late nights cutting fabric, troubleshooting my website, and
wondering if anyone would even want what I was creating. Add in the financial challenges of starting a business, and let’s just say there were a lot of moments where quitting felt easier.
But every time I saw my daughters light up when they wore my bows or heard a customer share how much they loved their purchase, it reminded me why I started. Those little wins kept me going. It’s been anything but smooth, but honestly, the bumps have made the journey that much more meaningful.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Lovehearted Kiddos, I design whimsical, high-quality hairbows and accessories that bring joy to everyday moments. What makes my work stand out is the focus on unique prints—everything from playful snack cake designs to Taylor Swift-inspired styles—paired with high-quality fabrics like organic cotton. I also offer custom creations for special occasions like birthdays, holidays, and back-to-school, making each piece feel extra special.
What I’m most proud of is how Lovehearted Kiddos has become a brand that truly connects with people. It’s not just about selling bows; it’s about creating moments of happiness and helping kids (and their parents) feel seen and celebrated.
What sets me apart is my approach. I pour so much love and thoughtfulness into every bow, ensuring each one is as unique as the families who wear them. I also stay connected to my community through social media, fun collaborations, and engaging content. We are all about spreading joy, one bow at a time!
What are your plans for the future?
The future for us is looking bright and full of possibilities! Right now, I’m working on creating a signature everyday collection of hairbows and accessories—something timeless, versatile, and perfect for every occasion. I’m also excited to expand into kids’ clothing, bringing the same playful and whimsical energy that’s become the heart of my brand.
On top of that, I’m dreaming big about turning Lovehearted Kiddos into a full-fledged enterprise. The ultimate goal? Opening a brick-and-mortar kids’ boutique where families can shop, connect, and experience the magic in person.
I’m also planning a roadshow to bring LHK to even more communities, making it easier for customers to shop and discover the brand in real life. Big changes are coming, but the heart of the brand—spreading joy and love—will always stay the same.
