Today we’d like to introduce you to Ali Victorious
Hi Ali, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As far as I can remember I always had this love for music and different sounds. Thankfully I was introduced to music at a very young age. My mom would always have a song playing at home. Especially while she’ was cleaning up, every Sunday we already knew what time it was. Even though she didn’t enjoy cleaning up after our mess, she did enjoy dancing and singing while she cleaned. That smile meant she was living in the moment. Now I do the same but to my own music. I also remember watching my uncle and his friends write songs and then record them on a computer. I was around 7 years old when I found out he did that and I was beyond amazed. As the timed move forward i’ve been my own quest to discover my full potential and unlock my inner self. Regardless of what’s going on in the world. I will master that through the power of my lyrics and the most pure energy.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been smooth road and I’m grateful for that. “Choppy waters make a skilled sailor”. Most of the time we want things to go “our way” then end up upset when they don’t. I came to realize that after every setback in life I discovered something new about myself. I am either going to grow through it or just go through it. One of the main struggles I have is constantly thinking to myself,
am I doing enough or should I be doing more? I only have those thoughts when I compare myself with others though. Comparing is the thief of all joy.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I bring light to anywhere it’s dark.
My music reflects who I truly am and it shows you my love for the medium. I feel like my lyrics are insightful with unfiltered passion that captures the attention of listeners and enabling deeper connections. Through my songs I explore a variety of subjects, from social challenges to personal struggles, and I express it in a way that is both compelling and thought-provoking.
I am known for rapping literally anywhere I go! I would also like to think I am known inspiring, motivating & being a positive figure in the hip hop community. Most importantly a kind a human being.
What were you like growing up?
I was chubby, when you grow up in a Mexican household you grow up loving Mexican food. Growing up I was somewhat a quiet kid but always observant. I would see the actions one made and depending on the outcome I would take those same actions. I always wanted to be like the people I looked up too, don’t we all at one point? Growing up I was a huge soccer (fútbol) fanatic. My family was and still to this day is all about soccer.
I have cousins, aunts, siblings that all play because they love It. I remember playing for a couple teams, balling everyone up in slow motion if you know you know. [laughs]
Anyways, I ended up injuring my knee and that was the last thing I remember from that chapter.
Shortly after that my true calling found me and it’s been up since then.
