We’ve always tried to ask the questions that matter but that are too awkward for people to ask their friends, family and coworkers without seeming dramatic. One of those questions is about mission and purpose – when’s the last time you asked a friend what their mission was? Too often we don’t talk about our own missions and don’t ask those close to us about theirs with the result being that our missions remain secret. Are you just a doctor or are you a doctor who wants to be there for patients in the way you wished your father’s doctor had been? People have incredible and meaningful missions, and we hope our conversations asking folks about their mission can inspire more such conversations in your life.

The blank white walls stared at me with the same blank face I gave my therapist. “What makes you happy?” I struggled with coming up with the right answer to tell her for fear that she’d diagnose me incorrectly. I could feel my face heating up and sweat building behind my neck. The walls started to close in and my tongue felt glued to the top of my mouth. Read more>>

Event planning is truly my dream career. I started in the field because the passion of planning and designing radiates from within. At eleven years of age I started to place decorative accents around my parent’s house. On Sundays, during church I would fo in the media room to place ribbon on the wall. My first born baby shower, that’s when I knew that I have a tremendous amount of love and talent. I picked out the colors, and handmade all the centerpieces then I set up the whole venue. Once all of it was set and done, the joy seeing it all comes together was true heartwarming. That is the same moment I want each of my clients to experience. Read more>>

6 months before I walked out of prison, I received the news that my Father has passed. At the time, I’d been incarcerated a total of 15 years but those last few months seemed darker than my full time wrongfully incarcerated. The irony of my loss, was my encouragement, support and genuine care came from the men I had did time with and had become family. They supported me during uncertainty and for that I’m most grateful. I saw those incarcerated beyond a conviction – I saw redemption. My experience as an innocent man in prison allowed me to view society from many perspectives. The question was – What am I going to do? Read more>>

Homefulness… When I was on the commercial interiors side, a great mentor in the industry started talking about the emotion of Homefulness as described by Tiffany Watt Smith in her book, The Book of Human Emotions. This really stuck with me, and I have found that many of my current residential clients are searching for this emotion in their own homes. Read more>>

I was never allowed to wear makeup growing up….it wasn’t until I got to college that I was able to really indulge in the craft. With that, I was pretty confident and only ever used it for enhancing my natural beauty or adding color to my eyes for some extra attraction. This led me to have Natural Glam as my signature look and style. I truly believe less is more and so many steer away from makeup either because they don’t know how to use it or because of the stigma behind needing makeup to feel beautiful. My brand is all about finding your own style and using the proper tools and techniques to create the perfect look. Read more>>
