We’ve always tried to ask the questions that matter but that are too awkward for people to ask their friends, family and coworkers without seeming dramatic. One of those questions is about mission and purpose – when’s the last time you asked a friend what their mission was? Too often we don’t talk about our own missions and don’t ask those close to us about theirs with the result being that our missions remain secret. Are you just a doctor or are you a doctor who wants to be there for patients in the way you wished your father’s doctor had been? People have incredible and meaningful missions, and we hope our conversations asking folks about their mission can inspire more such conversations in your life.

Simply put a mission is a short statement of why an organization exist, what its overall goal is, and the goal of the company. When we start at Moonglade Travel, in 2016, our mission was simply to inspire people to travel and see this big, bold, and beautiful planet. As we’ve evolved and have engulfed ourselves in more intentional travel experiences. Our mission has reshaped itself into one of deep meaning and intentional purpose. Read more>>

Societal norms, following traditional paths, listening to the outside world on how you should live your life or make decisions has always been very mundane to me. I’m not necessarily sold on any ideas of how humanity originated, therefore I’ve always had a hard time being receptive of my peers’ attempts to place their upbringing and morals on me just because that’s all they were taught growing up. I think my mission as a filmmaker and image-maker is simply to tell stories. I often refer to my artform as “modern hieroglyphics.” It is our way of documenting the human experience, which also makes it our responsibility to document it in a way that is inclusive, meaningful and impactful. My overall mission is to describe the universe not only as I see and interpret it, but how many around the world might. To tell stories often unheard and unnoticed, that are relatable on a spiritual, emotional and connective level. Read more>>
