We’ve always tried to ask the questions that matter but that are too awkward for people to ask their friends, family and coworkers without seeming dramatic. One of those questions is about mission and purpose – when’s the last time you asked a friend what their mission was? Too often we don’t talk about our own missions and don’t ask those close to us about theirs with the result being that our missions remain secret. Are you just a doctor or are you a doctor who wants to be there for patients in the way you wished your father’s doctor had been? People have incredible and meaningful missions, and we hope our conversations asking folks about their mission can inspire more such conversations in your life.

The story behind my mission as an adventure wedding and elopement photographer begins with my own passion for the outdoors and the deep connection I feel with the breathtaking landscapes of Colorado. My husband and I eloped back in 2016, before adventure elopements were as popular as they are now. Our personal experience of eloping, combined with the pressure we felt from others to have a traditional wedding day that didn’t resonate with us, fueled our desire to offer a unique and meaningful alternative to other couples. I personally hate working alone. Sometimes getting in the zone by yourself can be great but when it comes to day after day I don’t think we are meant to work in isolation. Our core mission is to bring a spotlight to the amazing work people do and to do that together. We want to collaborate with our clients but also with other creatives on the project. The 4137 in our name is a call back to an apartment I lived in where late at night creatives from all mediums and walks of life were able to come together and work alongside one another. Read more>>

Where to begin? My life has been a complex journey and struggle between paving my own way through life’s obstacles and not letting my past get the best of me – yet making it my daily motivation to grow in ways I always imaged. Growing up, I had a far from conventional childhood, my parents were addicts and tried to provide the best life they could while being in and out of the system. We grew up finding a new motel or storage unit weekly to live in. I remember my Dad tried his best to give us a “normal” Christmas in the motel room and handed us marbles to play with. Read more>>
