We’ve always tried to ask the questions that matter but that are too awkward for people to ask their friends, family and coworkers without seeming dramatic. One of those questions is about mission and purpose – when’s the last time you asked a friend what their mission was? Too often we don’t talk about our own missions and don’t ask those close to us about theirs with the result being that our missions remain secret. Are you just a doctor or are you a doctor who wants to be there for patients in the way you wished your father’s doctor had been? People have incredible and meaningful missions, and we hope our conversations asking folks about their mission can inspire more such conversations in your life.

The story behind Blessed Photography’s mission, is because time is way to short to think about how good we look, how much money we have or just breaking our back for decent family photos. Honestly, if Covid taught us anything was that time is too precious. Before Covid, the goal was the same but I felt like I got overwhelm with competing with everyone and their prices. However, now. I don’t care if its with me or with another photographer. TAKE PICTURES WITH YOUR LOVED ONES! That is all I keep repeating. It breaks my heart when I go to a funeral and the picture they have of the one passing is one from years ago. Then you hear all those sad cries saying. I should of done this and that. Read more>>

I grew up believing I couldn’t express myself without some form of harsh judgement or criticism over how I am expressing myself. Poetry has always been that outlet especially once I started performing back in 2016. I write to remind myself of my unique voice and to hopefully remind the readers of their own voice too. That it’s perfectly fine to be you no matter how different it may look to others. I write to express and encourage for the ones who find it difficult to shine their light. Read more>>

For decades women have been the target audience for any and everything sexy. Whether it be for what we are or not wearing, we’ve been sold and told what sexy looks like, what it should sound like – what it feels like, too. From what I know about women I understand we are all multifaceted beings so any version of that will appeal to most of us. But what I hated most was being told WHEN to be sexy. That this passionate, fierce version of us should be reserved for a “special occasion”, which is typically 2 days out of the year (3 if he’s been a real good boy). Bullshit. Read more>>

As I prepared to wrap up my 30 year career in education, it was becoming more and more common to see elementary aged students showing signs of depression, anxiety and lack of motivation. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with more than 800 families helping parents and students balance home life, emotions, and learning experiences. What I came to realize is that a child’s mindset is very powerful and thoughts or internal beliefs often remain present in the mind from a very young age through adolescence to young adulthood. Our mission is pretty straightforward- we love helping people. In the beginning stages of my business, I enjoyed assisting people with their real estate needs, but wanted to do more. After talking it through with my husband, we decided to add a ”giving back’ component to our business and our mantra ‘Real Estate. Real Purpose.’ was born! We pledged to take a portion of our earnings from each completed transaction and donate to a non-profit organization chosen by our client. The program has been a great success and our clients have been really receptive to the prospect of doing some good along with buying or selling their home. Read more>>

The female unemployment rate in Palestine is a staggering 41%. As a result, women face various political, economic and social barriers in finding reliable, stable work. As a Palestinian, I was aware of this bleak local reality, which led me to eventually found Darzah. In 2009, I was a co-chair for the international Reconceptualizing Early Childhood conference that was going to take place in Palestine. Some graduate students wanted to join me and I suggested to do something for the Palestinian community. Some friends in the West Bank asked me for music instruments and my students started fundraising. Read more>>

The Serena Nicole Skincare mission came together over time during the 3 years I’ve been in business starting from a personal desire to only want all natural ingredients touching the largest organ of the body – the skin. Prior to starting my business I was a skincare junkie, I would look up different products, skincare regimen ideas, and ingredient research out of pure interest. As I started moving into a more natural and health centered lifestyle, I realized that it didn’t only matter what I was putting in my body but also on my body to help me feel my best inside & out. I started my career with an end goal being to bridge generational wealth gaps through real estate. I worked in the property management industry for almost 5 years and each community I worked at in that time span had different price points. Many times I would interact with prospects that aren’t in the best place financially but really want a nice, clean, and safe place to live. It isn’t fair to me that lower income families are forced to live in some of these terrible places. At times, we were not able to help them due to our prices being too high or them not having sufficient credit history and it would make me sad that I could not help them. Read more>>

Four and a half years ago I moved to Amsterdam and began working from home. I tried to adjust to this new lifestyle by building good habits…namely not sitting all day…but I grew tired of having to choose between wearing unsupportive slippers or outdoor sneakers to be comfortable on my feet at home. I craved a stylish, supportive house shoe that captured the coziness of a traditional slipper. Finding nothing with actual foot support and cool style, I decided to create it. As I started researching the fashion industry, I quickly learned how terrible of an impact it has on the environment. Read more>>

The story of my mission goes hand in hand with how my business even got started. I remember launching my business at the beginning of 2021 with only one client. Later on I was offered what I thought was my “dream job” but then after a few months, I noticed that my dream job was actually to be free from a 9-5 and not working for someone else’s dream but to be able to live my own and use the talents that God has blessed me with to help other local businesses and entrepreneurs. The story behind launching my business is a testimony to those out there on how they should NEVER ever give up on their dream of owning their own business and trusting God to do the impossible because I just had to make the possible happen. From the time I had understanding I have been an extremely emphatic person; almost to the point that the connection was too heavy to bare. I never understood why this was & at times I wish I didn’t feel the amount of emotions I got from witnessing or hearing of others struggles & pain. This ultimately translated into deeply caring for people. As time flys & interests grow, I took a liking to creativity, specifically with music. It seemed to flow naturally but also seemed necessary to funnel my thoughts & feelings. At a young age it was very clear that this is where my purpose lived. Read more>>

PeopleProud was started in January of 2020 for a few main reasons. I’ve have a couple of jobs in the past, one where I was extremely valued and cared for at, and the other…. well, not so much. The first job I had right out of college was a “Sales Representative” job in Columbus, Ohio. This job was a true “sales” job where we had to cold call every single day, all day long. It was a very strict culture. The way I was treated at this job could have been better … that is for sure. Employees at this company were truly just “employees” and were not treated like human-beings. It was not a good cultured company. Read more>>

There are times in your life that you always tend to look back to. This journey has been an amazing one! I started “Ammychi” the brand as a way to have an escape. Overtime the brand has changed as a means to encourage and impact the lives of everyone that comes across it. Some 15 years ago, I based myself in Miami, FL, as I often traveled and played shows on cruise ships. Digital recording gear was affordable, and computers were finally able to offer decent performance, so I invested in a modest setup. The story behind my business is an interesting one honestly. Mostly because I never imagined that I would be where I am today. I started out as a dancer/choreographer in Dallas Texas at a studio where I was training and from there I made the big move to LA. At that time I thought that was my “Dream” but I quickly realized everything that glitters isn’t gold and all sugary things aren’t sweet. From there I bounced from state to state as a stylist and creative director, eventually landing back in Texas depressed and broke. From that point, I decided to go back to school and get my degree in social work. Read more>>

Our mission is to provide waterproof, sanitizable casts and splints that allow people to practice basic hygiene like washing their hands and showering while healing.
