We recently connected with Zuzia Kudasik and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Zuzia, thanks for joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I was lucky enough to be born with an affinity for the arts and have been creating as long as possible. When it came time to go to college, I chose the field of graphic design because it was fresh and exciting. As I continued my educational journey, I also fell in love with design and the design process. If I wanted to speed up my learning, I would have taken design classes in high school rather than waiting for college. The skills within graphic design that are important to practice are the application of typography and photography. Despite going to school during the pandemic, I think that my passion for design allowed me to overcome any and all obstacles that came my way.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello! I am Zuzia Kudasik, a Polish-American Graphic and Illustrative designer based in Denver. Over the past two years, I have had the pleasure of learning about Graphic Design, and through this, I have found a passion in life. While I have always been artistically inclined, I found that design work sparked an interest in me like never before. This led me to begin the graphic design program at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, where I immediately embraced the ways of “design thinking”. I am intrigued by communication, and through personal experiences, I knew that the field of efficient communication was the best choice for me.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Sustainability in general drives me as a person, I try to implement sustainable practices in my design work wherever possible. This can look like monitoring my electrical output, to considering actual production materials, I approach each project intending to make it sustainable and long-lasting. My thoughtful consideration of the final product drives me to create and I love that I can help the earth while I am at it!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Getting to do what you love is always rewarding, but getting to be creative takes that to a whole new level. I love everything about what I do, but mostly I love bringing people’s visions to life through design. It is truly amazing to be able to translate ideas and concepts into something that people can visualize, and I find it incredible that I get to collaborate with my clients so much. Watching a client believe in their ideas through my artwork has been so inspiring, and I have gained an appreciation for the skills I can provide them.
