Zuzel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your business and how did you resolve those issues?
I was presented with many problems during the launch of my company, like my mother says- mistakes in business are just “how much?” i learned the hard way how business with friends can sometimes not go as planned. From being scammed on how much my website would be, to paying and not receiving the services.. to learning how to trademark my business name to avoid any issues.
Marketing was also a huge curve ball, many people sell you a dream and cannot execute what they promise, if you are unaware of the field or the vocabulary its so easy to get scammed.
This and many more issues have come up, none big enought to have me quit

My name is Zuzel Barrera, a 32 year old with a dream. When I was in my early 20’s I had the opportunity to work for a similar company. I started in the call center and learned every role until managing the Miami office. I was there for over 8 years. Never considered even having my own company. Life happened and the owner closed the company, I was stressed had no idea what life would look like after dedicating so many years for this one company. Luckily, my mother, my angel in life was the one who told me don’t loose your contacts. I was so scared, I had the employee mentality and I didn’t know where to start and how, how will I make the money appear. The best thing I ever did was take the leap. Now EZ Passports has been in business for 5 years. We specialize in expediting USA Passports, as quickly as 2-4 days if needed. We process Cuban Passports, travel visas like China, India etc. Our team has specialized agents trained to expedite and facilitate your passport process
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Building the foundation, being consistent and communication. One thing I do with my customer is under promise and over deliver. As well as complete transparency. This business thrives on referrals, the one thing that works is loving what I do. In loving what I do I feel like we provided a white glove service no one else is willing to do.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Networking has been the number 1 thing in building good relationships. When I first started my company I use to think it was a numbers game, how many people can I meet in one event. How many business cards can I take. After some years and lost of mistakes I realized, like many things quality over quantity. Now I take the time to nurture the relationship, even if its ones person I meet at an event, when you nurture a relationship and build an actual connection the referrals and the support is so much bigger
