We recently connected with Zondra Evans and have shared our conversation below.
Zondra, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
To illustrate my point, let me share my uncommon and unconventional “Blue Rose Moment”. Six years ago, someone recommended me to be a “TV Talk Show Host”. Having never done it before, this idea could not have been farther from my mind. I’ve never been on TV, much less hosted or produced a TV Show. I didn’t have professional broadcast experience, and I wasn’t a communications major in college. When I received the call to purchase a Roku Channel and become a TV Talk Show Host, I could have simply said, “No I am not a Talk Show Host on television”, and hung up the phone. But, I always pray before making major decisions, and before I knew it, I was overwhelmed with excitement about the positive potential that owning a TV Channel could make in my and other people’s lives. Excitement overtook me, and I said YES to purchasing my first Roku Channel and becoming a TV Talk Show Host. I believe we all have the ability to live an exciting life if we are willing to just say YES to unconventional opportunities that come our way. By saying YES to purchasing my first channel, Zondra TV Network now has #channels, two (2) International Awards for TV, Media, and Talk Show genre, we are distributed to 350M+ homes worldwide, and we have a TV/Media Academy where we train entrepreneurs on how to become a TV Producer and create additional revenue streams – just like I and our 60+ producers do every day. Success all starts with you and your willingness to accept you “Your Blue Rose Moment”.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
After 40 long years in corporate America, I have to admit I learned a lot. To be perfectly honest, what corporate America didn’t teach me is how to be successful in my own business. Now don’t get me wrong, I applied many concepts from my leadership role to establish and grow my business. And, when I look in the rearview mirror and conduct my own analysis, I find foundational sales, marketing, and product development principles required for success that I learned the hard way. First, you must be willing to be different. You may ask yourself why? Some of your greatest rewards will be revealed in uncommon and unconventional opportunities which I refer as a “Blue Rose Moment”. Some of my most successful wins occurred because of my willingness to forge ahead with confidence and do what others weren’t doing. In order to become a true thought leader and pioneer in your space, your mindset must be adjusted to live, work, and breath from a blank canvas. Often times, successful entrepreneurs say that our mindset needs to “To Live Outside the Box”. What I find is the pinnacle of success begins when one is willing “To Live Without a Box”. Then, and only then, will you truly lean in and tap into your source and strength to win! To date we have won two International Awards for TV, Talk Show and Media. We have developed an amazing TV/Media Academy where we have taught over 100 entrepreneurs how to become a TV Producer and monetize their content on Streaming TV
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
My funding story probably sounds somewhat similar to other entrepreneurs who have a dream and bootstrap the initiative until they wear out the soles of their boots and their laces are less than an inch long. Not much you can do with that… Well my story is similar but different. How many would sale their primary residence and rent a 10×10 room for 3 years? Not many, but it’s what I did. Obedience is better than sacrifice but I also know that in order to be obedient you may have to sacrifice something of great worth. Now, with that being said — I am not suggesting that you sale your home but I believe that hard work and much sacrifice has paid off for me and Zondra TV Network.
Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
When we started Zondra TV Network our goal was to create multiple revenue stream options for ourselves and the TV Producers on the network. We have various ways to monetize: 1) Elevator Pitch Directory 2) Commercial Advertisements 3) Sponsors 4) Guest Services 5) Multiple TV Distributions outlets 6) Content Development 7) Education
