We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful ZomNye’t Webster. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with ZomNye’t below.
ZomNye’t , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
A risk that I have taken recently is definitely taking a break from posting every single day. Earlier this year I was posting everyday vlogs and I did love and enjoy them, but I started to feel burnt out. I needed a new way of navigating what and when I want to post. I enjoy sharing moments with my kids, but I don’t want to feel like I have to share something everyday. Now this was a pressure I was putting on myself! I need to let myself relax haha! I am really enjoying trying to figure out what kind of videos bring me joy.
ZomNye’t , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a mommy of 2 that loves every second of being able to take care of them. I am also a singer/songwriter that loves to put her emotion into music. I post all kinds of videos because I don’t want to put myself into one category. Sometimes I feel like that’s what we do, we think we have to pick one thing and stick with it. I naturally enjoy trying new things, succeeding, failing, & trying again. I post mommy vlogs, inspiring quotes, song covers, & I post cooking videos!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is hearing my audiences feedback. Hearing how a song I wrote impacted their lives. Reading through the comments of people telling me they look forward to my videos. I love the fact that as many times as I have put pressure on myself, I am sent a reminder from the universe that I am on the right path and I am so thankful for that.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I wish that I would have tried to take vine seriously when that was a thing and I also wish I would have started tiktok sooner! But I am proud of the platform I have built and everything is the perfect timing for me! Facebook has been my go to social media outlet for almost 10 years!
