We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Zoila Torres a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Zoila, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

I remember it like it was yesterday. It was during covid and I was still a senior in highschool but we weren’t going to school at the time, one day me and best friend raven were together brainstorming business ideas. Once I figured out I was set on taking jewelry making seriously I wrote down about 4-5 names and we kept saying the names in different ways and zoilita’s holistics just sounded good and stuck ever since.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Yes, well I’m zoila I’m a latina jewelry maker and business owner. I mostly make crystal jewelry though. I got started in jewelry making when I was really young because my grandma was a jewelry maker so I was taught at a young age about the process. I took that hobby/skill and made it my own including crystals in my jewelry. My love for crystals started when I was about 13, that around the time I came around to my spirituality and started embracing life and crystals were a big part of that for me. I’ve always felt connected to the earth and in this work I feel like I’m bringing the earth to everyone. As a small business owner I do still have time to connect and create relationships with my clients and customers, I actually prioritize that and I feel like that was sets me aside because most of customers have become friends. I hope to keep that up no matter how ‘big” I get! I feel like recognition and relationships building really helps clients and customers remember you! I’m very proud of the customer service I provide, and that comes from working in customer service for years. My main mission is just to connect with people and teach them that life and earth aren’t such bad things. I call myself “ya local god motha” because that is exactly what I am. Simply I am here to help.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?

Well to start, all of my orders are packed after being smudged (a form of smoke cleansing) and packed with selenite ( a crystal that charges and protects the energy of other crystals) I fell like that really is something my customers enjoy and makes them want to come back. Also a good majority of my customers come form my social media so it’s easy to keep in contact with them and interact with their social media so they know I’m still here and remember them. My passion and dedication are also definitely a reason all of my customers shop more than once with me.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Honestly just being authentic. I’m very passionate about what I do so being authentic is important to me because I truly do enjoy what it do. Everyone can see how excited I get when I am around crystals, or when I’m making jewelry, or even when I get to talk to a customer. That really shows people I mean business and that has created opportunities and collaborations for me and my business.
