We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Zoé Sosa a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Zoé, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Growing up I always had a love for the arts and aesthetics. It was an escape for me as a younger individual and I knew that going out into the real world I felt I wasn’t meant for a typical corporate career. I knew I’d only flourish if given the room to be creative in my day to day tasks. I got to pursue different paths and then one day I finally found one I really wanted to invest my time in which further led me to going to esthetician school. I always loved makeup artistry and since I loved enhancing skin I also wanted to learn how to take care of the skin. Through all that it led me to the artistry of lashing and has since been my full time career.

Zoé, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Zoé and I’m an esthetician/lash artist! I grew up with a passion for makeup artistry and studied for my cosmetology license to pursue it as a career. Along with that license I got to do hair as well but quickly learned it was not my cup of tea! Through trial and error I found the niche I felt more comfortable with was working with the skin and then decided to go back to school for my estheticians license! Through doing traditional esthi work I learned many holistic treatments for the skin, which I still practice on my self today! A little through my journey of learning different treatments I stumbled upon a lash class and decided to give it a try since I still hadn’t found my exact spot in the esthi world. I soon developed a love for the artistry and dedicated more time to learning and perfecting my skills and have been lashing ever since! I absolutely love to see the confidence in my clients after a fresh set, it truly is a rewarding occupation. I truly aim to fulfill the goals my clients want to obtain with each service and make sure they feel as comfortable during the process as I like to provide them a safe space to relax and get some self care in!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
The main key on building an online presence is consistency! The biggest way to gain new clients is by allowing them to visually see your work for themselves. Posting before and afters of your work do way more than you may think and you never know who may be watching your growth online! Being interactive with your followers and mutuals also help boost your content and that’s always important especially with how much platforms tend to change throughout time.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a lash artist is seeing my clients reaction after each service. It’s that “ah” feeling of being put back together and ready to take on the world again after a fresh fill. It truly makes such a difference in ourselves knowing that if we feel good we do good and I’m all about spreading that positivity and confidence all around!
