We were lucky to catch up with Zoe Nazarian recently and have shared our conversation below.

Zoe, appreciate you joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?

Growing up, I was lucky enough to have two loving parents who were dedicated to allowing me to follow my creative passions. As a child, they signed me up for tons of creative extracurricular activities such as musical theatre productions, dance classes, and singing lessons. I spent years of my childhood attending summer camps that emphasized acting. I was able to participate in multiple musical theatre shows and short films created at these summer camps. As I got older, and realized how much I loved the creative space, I took an interest in content creation and decided that I wanted to start a YouTube channel. My mom immediately did everything she could to understand the world of content creating. She taught herself how to edit videos, learned how to monetize content, and even helped me film my videos. I don’t know too many moms with that much dedication to their child’s passions, and for that, I am forever grateful! Not to mention, she also drove me around Los Angeles for auditions and meetings for many years until I was able to drive myself places. Both of my parents have invested so much into my creative pursuits over the years, which has allowed me to continue to grow in the industries that interest me most.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

As an actor, I see my craft as a journey of self-discovery and a space for endless creativity. It’s about expressing myself, exploring new horizons, and growing personally and artistically. I have so much fun stepping into the shoes of a character and expressing their feelings and emotions as they naturally would.

My creative journey definitely doesn’t stop there. I also step into the digital realm as a social media content creator, where I have had the opportunity to collaborate with some incredible brands. I understand the importance of brand identity and visibility, and I believe that is a big reason why I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with brands I genuinely admire.

Over the years, I have grown quite a lot in the entertainment industry. I’d say that a lot of my experiences, good and bad, have helped to shape me into the person that I am today. I hope to continue my journey in this creative space by following my passions of acting and creating.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?

Often times when I tell people that I am a creative, non-creatives have a difficult time understanding that what I do is a “real job.” I never saw myself being stuck in a job relating to something that I was not passion about. Fortunately I have had many opportunities to use my creative mind to participate in jobs and partnerships that have been lucrative. I wish that everyone who has any sort of passion has the ability to do what they love everyday. As I continue in this line of work acting and creating, I continue to understand the importance of finding a career that makes you happy.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

There have been many instances where I have been resilient over the years, but one that sticks out is regarding my support system. I unfortunately learned very quickly that not everyone wants to see you win, even if they say they do. Surrounding yourself with people who actually have your best interest at heart is so crucial. There have been moments where I have realized that people who were supposed to be on my team cheering me on were actually doing the opposite. Pushing through those moments were difficult, but I am ultimately glad that their true colors were shown. Being resilient in any situation is not easy, but it is so powerful and rewarding to come out of the situation stronger.
