Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zoë De boehmler. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Zoë, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. One of our favorite things to brainstorm about with friends who’ve built something entrepreneurial is what they would do differently if they were to start over today. Surely, there are things you’ve learned that would allow you to do it over faster, more efficiently. We’d love to hear how you would go about setting things up if you were starting over today, knowing everything that you already know.
If I were to start over I would not wait until my back was against the wall to peruse my dreams. I wouldn’t put myself last.. I wouldn’t let fear of failure slow me down.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Although I started my entrepreneurial journey designing & manufacturing swimwear currently I am a full time yoga instructor & “space holder” for many.
Leading vinyasa classes in one of the best yoga studios in Palm Beach – The Yoga Society. I am able to let my creativity flow freely. The exchange of energy in these classes is in valuable.
Private, in home yoga classes “assisted asana” allows me the opportunity to deeply connect with my clients and provide them therapeutic healing through movement, breath and individual attention.
I consider my self to be extremely blessed being able to integrate my passion and my career.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The pivot for me came full force. My swimwear brand was experiencing financial hardship, I was in the middle of a divorce and my best friend suddenly passed.
I really only had yoga to keep me sane, present and there for my daughters.
I started teaching at a studio owned by a lawyer, I taught as many classes as I could manage to work off some of the lawyer fees for my divorce. But what happened was really divine intervention as my fire and love for yoga was completely reignited.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Staying true to who I am, moving with genuine intention. I’ve often been told that when students take my class they learn something new every time, they are forced listen, be present and always encouraged to be authentic in their movements. I put my time in to curating a flow so that each class is unique, safe and creative.
