We were lucky to catch up with Zoë Davis recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Zoë thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

Zoe Life CCP specializes in exhortation life coaching, book coaching, consultations, book, music, and film publishing. We offer several small services for independent authors as well as larger based packages for those in need to produce literary and musical projects.

The publishing imprint (Zoë Life Publishing) is a publishing imprint that releases titles committed to offering encouragement and that are life transforming. We desire for our titles to impact readers in a way that is beyond entertainment; a way that will bring healing, restoration, or even productivity to one’s life. Our catalogue includes now children’s titles, notebooks, and journals.

Zoë, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I began publishing literally as an accident. I had been working on a prayer book and simply wanted the ladies to have physical copies available. I didn’t realize that I was publishing the title as a book! LOL This book was titled Confessions for Wives, and was released March 2014. At the time, I’d actually written a book titled “Let’s Talk About Sex!” and it was on hold because I didn’t have a publisher.

After I published “Confessions for Wives,” – I saw the opportunity to self publish and began looking into that. Being a teacher by trade, I didn’t dive into the publishing industry completely though. I simply created small packages that would assist other writers to self publish.

It wasn’t until September 2018 that Zoe Life Coaching, Consulting and Publishing was birthed. I was having a conversation with another sister (Rekeita Bradford) and she stated, “You have a publishing company – stop playing.” She gave me a consultation on the spot and blessed us with our logo! From there, Zoë Life Publishing was birthed!

We are set apart in the idea that we focus on producing projects that give life, being that the name of our company essentially means “life.” We have help clients that have been stagnant in their gifts for years to produce businesses, books, songs, film and more! We serve as visionary midwives for those that need help in bringing the LIFE of their visions.

How did you build your audience on social media?

Zoe Life CCP has grown mainly through social media and word of mouth. Every aspect of the growth of the business has come from research, study, and intentionally setting goals on growing the business year after year.

I would take what didn’t work in one season, and perfect it for the next. I make goals each year in September and focus on meeting those goals. I would just as well perfect those things that did work into the next season. It’s been a lot of studying on ads, marketing, etc. – many things that most authors don’t realize go into production of a book.

We also intentionally outsource other small business for services. For example, we partnered with JustUS Films (formerly KeeWii Films) to produce our book trailers as we added that as a feature in our packages.

Our goal is to take authors from start to finish and make sure when they publish their book – they have everything that they need.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

Like many small business owners, above all things – the pandemic was the biggest test for our business. However, we saw the opportunity to cater to the needs of our clients as we typically do and to date, the pandemic year has been our most successful year yet!

We offered more services and more deals that would allow finances to be worked with and every client that year saw a massive return on their publishing investment. We had a wonderful year and took the lessons we learned to continue to grow and expand.
