We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ziv Sade a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ziv, thanks for joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I want to be remembered as a creative person who led with kindness, helping to preserve the art of genuine photo-making and storytelling.
As a queer artist inspired by others, by vulnerability, and by connection,
I aspire to be an artist who broke the boundaries of borders, religion, and gender, offering a profound human perspective to the world.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a queer photographer specializing in advertising, portraiture, and street photography.
I was born in Israel, in a small kibbutz called Afikim, which is similar to a small town.
I fell in love with photography when I was about 12 years old and entered the fashion and advertising industry professionally around the age of 20.
In Tel Aviv, I had the opportunity to work with some of the biggest magazines and brands. When I moved to the USA at around 30, I started from the ground up and gradually built a name for myself in the Los Angeles advertising scene.
I’ve been privileged to work with brands such as Savage X Fenty, Live Nation, GT’s Living Foods, Incase, and ZipRecruiter.
Currently, I am working on my first book, which will share the story of how photography and my career saved my life and how I used my talent to overcome trauma and mental health struggles.
as well as extended my brand to video editing, multimedia creation and motion graphics.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I think as artists, we have to be resilient. Resilience feels like my second brain. When I started my career in Tel Aviv, I built my own network, organized my own exhibitions, and created my own marketing system. I spent hours in front of my computer promoting myself, researching, emailing, and setting up meetings.
When I moved to Los Angeles, I had to start over from scratch. I put myself out there again, made new connections, and produced my own passion projects.
This year has been particularly challenging with the ongoing war and personal issues. I had to push myself even harder, proving not only to others but also to myself that my fire is still burning—and I discovered that it is.
I love photography with all my heart. Being creative, resilient, and believing in yourself are gifts that keep on giving.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I treat my clients like family. I listen to them and communicate as much as possible.
I attend their events and gatherings, making it clear that I genuinely care.
At the end of the day, their success is my success, and I strive to build long-term relationships and nurture them.
