Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zirou Zhou. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Zirou, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I started photography because I want to remember all the beautiful moments. I like to take pictures of my family, my pets, my surroundings, because that’s what made up me as me. I am currently working on a project about beauty, the idea inspired me is that women always spend more time, money efforts want to be prettier. People spend money on skincare, wrinkles are considered aged, not young anymore, and ugly. But I believe it’s something showing of the most amazing experiences of life. This is an idea came up when seeing my mom’s hands. I photographed her hands and her skin, she has wrinkles all over her hands but that’s the most beautiful hands I’ve ever seen.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am from china and moved to California when I was 11, I spend half of my life if different countries. I like to combine the cultures between two countries and showing people peace and love is important. I loved seeing beautiful images on social media so I hope one day people will give a like on my image. I like to make concept images that can explore my thoughts so people can understand me. I like to work with flowers in still life because I believe the death of a flower isn’t real. I want to do stuff I’m passionate about so I’m worth living in the moment.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I’ve interested in Kpops and that’s one thing saved me when I went through my hardest time in my life. I hope I have a chance to work in that industry and with my favorite artist in the future.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I had being very worried to communicate with people earlier so I think I’ve missed a lot of people that I could meet if I wasn’t afraid. I believe the most important resources is your own brave.
