We recently connected with Zina Yono and have shared our conversation below.
Zina, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I think it takes problem drive, solving skills, time management and organization to be successful. In order to be successful, you must be really willing to sacrifice a lot of time and energy to two achieve your dream. It doesn’t happen over night night in this instant gratification era we are living in.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Just a few months prior to the COVID’ shut down of events, we had just signed a new lease to a much larger location and thrown a re-grand opening event. I had anticipated my best year yet and it was so hard to watch everything you worked so hard for to be taken away overnight. I didn’t let that affect my ability to maintain positive mindset for staff and clients. I knew that I had to be the light at the end of the tunnel for everyone that was also scared of the unknown. I began meeting with clients virtually to assure them that we will come up with the fairest solutions and still plan as if we will be re-opening and also have back up plans. I began letting clients know they had the ability to receive store vouchers so that they wouldn’t lose their deposit money placed. I let my staff know I was thinking of other solutions like virtual floral classes so we wouldn’t be closing our doors. Eventually we did re open and thankfully all my staff returned and was healthy. We are striving to have our best year yet again!
How’d you meet your business partner?
My business partner is my mother. She originally began this business in our homes basement. It was very rare for a middle eastern woman during this time to be self employed but my mother didn’t let stigma stop her from her dream. She gained a lot of clients and eventually opened a storefront and explained onto a larger one a few years later. She has taught me things that no classroom can ever teach in business and in life. She is my best friend and I love spending all the time with her at the office and outside of the office.
