We’re excited to introduce you to the zimo media. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Isabella below.
Alright, thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Back in 2021, it started with a question. Why weren’t brands prioritizing STRONG digital content? Whether it was a health brand, tech product, or clothing collection, we felt that brands, particularly newer ones, were putting all of their focus into the product itself — not the online presence. Back then, and especially now, we knew that your digital presence is essentially an online resumé – so why didn’t more brands care about the quality of their digital assets? Growing up with a combined photography and videography background, we had the tools and skills to offer a solution to these brands. We began by selling to friends and family, using an easy to understand comparison: Yelp images. When you’re in a new place, selecting a place to eat at, the quality of the photos and videos can make or break your decision… we personally wouldn’t trust a café with blurry, badly lit photos of their menu. Promoting a product or service was no different to us. And this is how it began: with two cameras, editing software, creative ideas, and a solid pitch. Having recently graduated from college (without marketing or business degrees, I should add), we weren’t sure where this journey would take us. But we started, and we didn’t look back. Sometimes that’s all it takes.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
at zimo, we specialize in cinematic high-production and mixed media by merging digital design (3D, CGI, Motion Graphics) with traditional content (photography & videography) crafted specifically for your brand’s digital campaigns.
Both born into a family of Venezuelan entrepreneurs, co-founders Isabella and Megan grew up in the sunny and vibrant city of Miami. Our love for content production and social media is rooted in our creative, tech-driven backgrounds. As young professionals, our team is regularly following trends while finding innovative and authentic ways to stand out online.
zimo media was founded in 2021 with a vision for making art. On the surface level, our mission is to elevate a brand’s visual image in a world where online presence is everything. Digging deeper, we wake up every day with the intention to create meaningful content that changes the way people view and interact with brands. As creatives, celebrate the power of coming together to create something larger than ourselves. We believe digital content is a modern art form and we treat it as such.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
2024 was not the easiest year for zimo – but also one that defined our resilience. On top of navigating the chaos of an election year, we came face to face with losing multiple clients at the same time. When things are rocky economically, brands typically scale back their budgets – and marketing usually goes first. This had major implications for our company. We had to keep team spirits up while parting ways with clients we’ve worked with for years. The hardest part was having to part ways with a few team members as a result. We truly prided ourselves on the team (and family) we’d built up to this point, so this was extremely difficult. But the reality is that we were left with no choice. As business owners, we almost always have to put the future of the company first. Of course, there are exceptions, such as one’s health and wellbeing. Outside of this, we know that we cannot keep doing what we love and continuing to build if we are not profitable. Losing a few clients this year shifted our priorities and forced us to focus on the importance of having multiple revenue sources. Luckily, things have stabilized since then, and our team came out of it stronger. We even added a few clients and 3D services to zimo! Check them out at our website :)

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
When it comes to managing a team, we are still learning every day. We are so lucky to have built such an incredible team of strong women (and Samy<3) over the past 2+ years. While doing so has been a combination of luck and having the proper hiring protocols, maintaining high morale within the team boils down to a very simple concept: acknowledging that we are all human. Someone may be having a bad day, or week, or their role might simply not be the right fit. We are constantly monitoring these cues, and coming together to provide support. Community is everything, and we really believe a strong team culture trickles down from the top. As co-founders, we are best friends with the utmost respect for one another, and we believe this is strongly reflected in our team. We may not always agree, or have different ways of going about a problem – but we put our egos to the side, no matter what. We have fostered a truly collaborative, open-minded environment, where we encourage everyone to share as much of their lives as they feel comfortable. Every Monday, we engage in ‘Synergy Sessions’ where we provide status updates, share inspiration, spotlight recent projects, and more. These weekly calls have become a pillar for keeping our team connected, even if we’re having a crazy week and everyone is working on a million different things. Coming together in person is also huge for us, and something we strive to do even more in 2025.
