We were lucky to catch up with Zi Savage Ngozi Okachi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Zi Savage Ngozi, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I didn’t realize for the longest time that even though I felt like a successful entrepreneur, I still hadn’t fully gone all in with my dreams and the rockstar vision of my life.
I was sitting on the set of filming season 16 the Blox speaking with a guest panelist about a few of the challenges I faced with visibility on social media.
They pointed out while yes maintaining visibility on social media as an activist has its unique hurdles, there were still parts of me and subsequently my business that I was half hazardly dipping my toe in to instead of jumping straight in.
No one had ever told me that. In the past it was “you need to pick a niche” or “make sure your millionth cta is eye catching.” Me, “that’s not inclusive language.”
Finally, someone who could help me with one of the last pieces of my puzzle.
From that moment on, I ruthlessly dumped every once of my energy, time and money into my business. I was risking it all on a dream of helping millions of people heal their generational trauma and finally live in peace and prosperity.
Honestly, it was the most liberating thing in the world to not live in limbo. I believed I would succeed and that became my new normal as I manifested dream opportunities that always took me by surprise.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For those of you who don’t quite know me yet, my name is Zi and I’m a musician, seer and activist.
My specialty is helping marginalized groups heal their generational trauma through spiritual mediums, empowerment and accountability coaching.
As a femme activist, teaching self advocacy, emotional intelligence, crucial conversations and how to heal the body holistically are a huge part of my business. It’s important now more than ever to exist safely within your body and financial sovereignty.
I use my gifts of mediumship & energetic alignment to connect people to their ancestors, guides and spirit (verbiage may change depending on your beliefs).
As someone who is multiethnic I use many practices from my lineages to help heal anyone I work with.
I’m also an advocate for animal welfare, reproductive rights and social equity.
I am currently training for marathon running to help raise money the Congo and local charities.
As a philanthropist I use my skills of dancing, singing, acting and modeling to support my business and radically love myself through self expression.
I invite you to check out my latest resources such as my book The Empowered Femme Initiation on Audible, start your day with Golden Light Healing meditation on Insighttimer, dance to my my song Falling Into Love on (Buujee Savage) on all major streaming platforms and learn about Clair development & expanding your psychic gifts on YouTube.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Definitely the impact! When you look back at history a lot of social change and activism came through artists who were musicians, speakers, dancers…all challenging the system to liberate themselves and the world around them.
To be able to share my poetry, music, book, speeches, teachings with the world and have people say how much it has changed their lives for the better is more than priceless.
Just from being ourselves we can create healing resources for others. That’s powerful.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The minute I started letting go of what I thought I knew about fancy algorithms and hashtags, my brand started to pick up on TikTok and YouTube.
It’s never about how to structure a video, it’s always about your passion.
When people can feel raw and real emotions behind the words you say, the rest is history.
People stay because you’re just like them not because of the fancy clothes you wear or the life you’re attempting to show off.
Stop trying to be like someone else so people can finally start loving the real you.
