Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zhenya Bobrovnyk. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Zhenya, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve ever worked on was a dance music video that we did in high school. We worked on that project for six months. It was a collaboration between two departments of filmmakers and dancers. My role in this project was one of the biggest and responsible. I was the costume designer with one of my closest friend, we worked on it together. I want to say that I have never been working as a costume designer, but I always want to try it. I never knew how to take measurements, how to properly create a palette of colors, so that each dancer doesn’t repeat themselves, but also so that they’re not too different from each other. This project brought me many memorable memories with the people I worked with. While working on this project, there were also challenges that I faced with, but also good moments that we will reminisce about later. I’m grateful for how many mistakes I made working on this project, but more importantly what lessons I learned from it afterwards.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to work in the movie industry, acting and directing have always been a big part of me. In my opinion what distinguishes me from others is that I am very disciplined, I know that I have a goal and I go to it no matter what circumstances or difficulties. Without difficulties our life is not interesting and boring. I am very proud of what I do, I always bring things to the end and I am a very big perfectionist, for me it is important that in all aspects of my life I had everything perfect, it is not good and not bad in my opinion, you always need a balance and I am working on it now :)
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
That you don’t have to be afraid of how people will react to you and your work. No one can judge you for what you do.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
For me, social media is a separate world that you have to immerse yourself in every day, it’s a lot of work that you have to devote more of your free time to. To share your daily energy and useful information with your audience.
The most important thing is to catch this contact with people, to understand for yourself what they are more interested in watching, on what topics there is more coverage from the audience. My advice that I would like to give to my audience is that you should not be afraid to try, always try something new, do not be afraid to experiment, try new topics, the design of stories and through mistakes you will understand what the audience really like to watch on your page and for what purpose they subscribed to you.
