We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Zeus Stunna a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Zeus, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The current project I’m working on, it’s called “Maybe For Me, But Not For You” I’d describe it as a “Heartbreak Memoir” based off a past break up that really affected me. I feel like this is the first project where i dive into the emotional part of pain, i feel like on this one I’m completely vulnerable and exposed. I’m actually really nervous to release something so personal but I’m going for it. I have all type of easter eggs in the songs and roll out for the people who want to dive deeper into the story telling of this project. It’s gonna be crazy to say the least.

Zeus, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Growing up as a kid in The Bronx, both of my parents rapped , and so did a lot of close family and friends i was always exposed to the culture right from the heart of it so i naturally got into it repeating a lot of songs on the radio and getting in trouble for, in my mom’s words, “knowing the songs better than math” that turned into me stealing her raps and going to school (when i went to spend a school year in South Carolina) then a few years later one of my cousins asked me to rap for jokes and i did great since that day i wanted to keep the feeling that i felt that day alive. What got me into it more professionally, when i was 19 I left my girl at the time and bought a ticket to LA to chase my dreams, I came here houseless, didn’t know anybody, but i knew i wanted to bring my vision to life and coming here to LA has helped me connect the dots just off taking a risk for a dream.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being able to connect with the people that felt like they were disconnected, being able to use my thoughts, my life, my emotions, to connect with people out there who might need some more of that. Also to motivate people and give people confidence i wanna help people work through the spectrum of life. I want a song for every hour and minute on the clock that relates to what you’re doing at that moment, weather you’re at the club, or your car, everywhere i make music to live to.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Before i moved to LA I got into this book called “Think And Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill and I’d say that book played a huge role in building the faith in myself to take the risks i took to get where i am today. Also The Bible
