We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful ZenZag . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with ZenZag below.
Hi ZenZag , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
We are very dedicated to giving back to our community as much as we can and using our platform to spread awareness to local issues that affect our community directly. Our first show as a band was a charity event for a local organization that brings music to people with developmental disabilities. We hope to throw a charity event every year and have that be something that we focus on throughout the length of our career. Music moves people, it is the voice of the voiceless so it’s important that we use the power that we have to create change and open conversations about change.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We are a collection of musicians from different walks of life, we all have our own personal story that shines through when we play. When we come together to create we all tune into the moment together and become one. All of our hearts beating at the same time our body and minds connected through the music. It’s a magical feeling to get together with a group of people and play music that moves your body and soul to a different dimension. We want our audience to feel the vibrancy that we feel while playing, we want the audience to not only hear our story but to feel it.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
The best way to support an artist is to believe in them. When your community believes in you and is rooting for you, it makes it so much easy to move about. Streaming their music, buying merch, attending a show, buying a ticket, sharing and engaging on social media and most importantly believing in them. Support from the heart goes a long way and is truly appreciated.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
One of the most rewarding aspects of making music is going from writing a new song and jamming it in the garage, to playing it live and the crowd singing the words and dancing to it. Being able to move people with our music is a feeling like no other.
