We were lucky to catch up with Zelenka Boyd recently and have shared our conversation below.
Zelenka, appreciate you joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope that my legacy is one that continues to grow based off of love and compassion for others; but I also pray that they are very self sufficient and independent, knowing what they want and what they deserve. I most definitley want them to continue to grow from the fruits of my labor. Whether they decide to be entrepreneurs or work a 9-5, I also want them to always give 100% no matter want.
Zelenka, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My desire to be a substitute teacher came shortly after I decided to leave my job as a 911 dispatcher where I had been working there for 11 years. I wanted to continue working but I was looking for something with a less demanding schedule due to the fact that my kids do brand influencing and modeling. With my job as a 911 dispatcher my kids had started seeing me less and less and II was unable to have the freedom to go to their functions.
I am most proud of the fact that I started my kids’ modeling and brand influencing simply by taking nice photos of them in clothing that they really enjoyed wearing, Our love for fashion was already there, but when I put my mind to it and and decided to get more involved with fashion, is when I really started seeing my potential for what I do.
I think the thing that mostly sets us apart is our unique ability to make cute kids’ outfits out of every day fashion looks.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The goal that is truly driving my journey is being financially comfortable for my kids and I. Ever since my kids have been in the world, my goal has been to make their lives as comfortable as possible. And I know that with the hard work that I am putting in now, that goal will soon be attained.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I built my audience and social media presence by being genuine and transparent with my readers and followers. I knew that when I began the journey of blogging as a single mother that it would be so important for others to see that I am just like anyone else in terms of me having struggles, fears and obstacles. I never wanted to come across as some superficial person that was unrelatable because that is not who I am.
