Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zein Clayton. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Zein, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
At 15, during the hot quarantine days, I had a bright idea to open my own snoball business, The Meltdown Snoballs. It was a huge risk—juggling school, navigating permits, and investing my savings—but I believed in the vision. Despite the challenges, once I turned 16 in November I started working harder and harder each day to be open by March 20th 2021 the business quickly became a local favorite, I won Battle of the Best Snoballs my first 3months in the business. Taking that risk wasn’t just about starting a business, it was about betting on myself, and it’s paid off beyond my wildest dreams of being a boss at a young age
Zein, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One major pivot in my life came when my business, The Meltdown Snoballs, started taking off. As the demands of running the business grew, it became clear that balancing both school and the business was becoming increasingly difficult. I made the decision to switch from in-person school to virtual learning, allowing me to focus more on growing and managing the business while still keeping up with my education. It was a challenging adjustment, but it was necessary to pursue my passion while staying on top of my responsibilities.
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
Yes initially, I was only looking to do this just to keep the business open and as a weekend thing, As demand grew, I expanded our menu as our customers/demand grew. A key milestone was securing a lease on my Third location the same day of graduation my business The Meltdown Snoballs went from a side project into a thriving, full-time venture.
