We recently connected with Zé and have shared our conversation below.
Zé, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s jump back to the first dollar you earned as a creative? What can you share with us about how it happened?
First dollar I ever earned from music was when I would produce beats and sell them. And then when I performed down at my college after I graduated, I was getting paid for shows. That was the best feeling. Because I get paid for doing what I love to do

Zé, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into the industry as a kid. Me and my bro TravQue used to perform at Ashford and Simpsons 4th of July parties in Connecticut, where some label heads approached us after our performance. We were only about 12 years old. So then we knew we had a talent for this that the world needs to see. But it takes a lot of discipline. There will be times where you want to quit, but you just got to keep going. That opportunity might be right around the corner for you. I think what sets my apart from other artists from Chicago is that I am not a drill rapper. I’m all about having a good time, enjoying life, and then I have some serious songs as well too, but I love my Melodie’s mixed with real rap bars. I am most proud of how far I came in a short period of time. When things just start rolling, it’s a whole snowball effect and you have to be prepared. I am a solo artist, but I have a squad called Jedeye Gang. And it is a tight knit family. We support each other and genuinely want to see everyone succeed. More shirts and clothing for Jedeye Gang will be on the way soon

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Oh yea. It was plenty of times where people told me your music, you have the bars it’s all there, but your vocals are lazy and you have to work on you presence. Most people would give up. But I kept working and working at it. About 1 year later, I Completely developed my own style and sound and I had that presence on the track. Now everyone is vibing with the music.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Support! Come to the shows. If you can’t make it, download the music. Share, repost, like and comment. Simple as that! Support your people
