Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zarinah Samad. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Zarinah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

Just like each entrepreneur there is a story, yet how it’s started and how it’s executed is up to the creative mind that tells it. Get Scented By Z Candle Co. was opened to showcase determination, strength and love for candles that allowed me to be able to create scents to bring comfort and decor to any space. The mission is to be a household favorite bringing light out of darkness and relaxing vibes to your home, office and or event.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I entered this industry because I needed a challenge that would allow me to express what I love, and that’s creating lasting signature scents and sharing with the world. The dining room is where the magic of Get Scented By Z Candle Co. takes place, to create, to make a mistakes, to just let my creativity flow despite the limited space. I provide candles and rooms sprays for all scent lovers as well as custom candles for baby showers, weddings, birthdays and any other special occasion. Candles and Room sprays enhance your space with a signature scent that allows your guests as well as yourself to reminisce about certain memories whenever you light that candle or spray your aroma spray in future uses.

Does your business have multiple or supplementary revenue streams (like a ATM machine at a barbershop, etc)?

Being an entrepreneur means taking on a major responsibility of finding out what will take you from juggling that 9-5 and adding extra income within your own business correct? So that’s the leap out of my comfort zone I am taking. I am currently working on how to help others as well as myself utilize their business to branch off 2/3 streams of income instead of having 2/3 different jobs. What I mean by that is I am working on a course to help business owners have multiple streams of income that still allows them to market and promote the exact product or service that originally was the stepping stone of their brand.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

I had to learn how to not try and change everything about what makes my business, my business, just because one customer out of 1,000 had a minor problem on how I did certain things. Im all for constructive criticism, because that’s how the great become greater.
