We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Zane Rima. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Zane below.
Hi Zane, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
When I first started sharing my love for singing online at 15 years old, I never imagined it would turn into a worldwide community of passionate singers.
Over the past two years, I had the honor of coaching students 1:1 over Zoom — helping singers all around the world transform their voices. Some of these transformations even went viral, reaching millions of people on social media. I didn’t just work with those who could already sing — I loved the challenge of helping complete beginners who simply had a passion for singing sound good for the first time in their lives.
At the same time, I was finishing my Nursing Degree and earning my RN license. I realized the skills I used in nursing — treating each client’s unique needs — transferred into my online vocal coaching. I fell in love with it more than I ever expected.
But as I got closer to graduation, I started burning out. I pulled back from 1:1 coaching and shifted my focus toward building something bigger: a singing community based on the lessons and experiences I had gathered.
After passing my state exam, I made the decision to go all-in as a Vocal Coach and build the community full-time.
Pocket Singers wasn’t just an idea — it was a solution to a problem I kept seeing. So many people wanted to learn how to sing but didn’t know where to start. They were stuck in self-doubt and lacked the proper guidance. I saw how 1:1 coaching changed lives, but I wanted to create a bigger impact, making singing fun and easy to learn alongside others.
Building this community from scratch has been one of the most meaningful projects of my life. It wasn’t easy. In the beginning, I did everything — coaching, scheduling, content creation, marketing, and operations. But as the community grew, I realized to serve at the highest level, I needed a team. I brought in peer vocal coaches who shared my passion, and even hired trusted members from the community who believed in the vision to help manage this community.
One of the most rewarding parts has been watching real transformations happen live — not just in singing ability but in confidence. I’ve had the blessing of seeing members grow daily, weekly, and monthly on Skool.com. After nearly a year, we became a Top 1% Skool community. As of April 28, 2025, Pocket Singers Elite is ranked #2 under the music category.
My AmaZane Media team and I work hard every day to keep this a safe and empowering space for singers to grow.
What’s been amazing to witness is that even without needing constant 1:1 sessions, our members are motivated, persistent, and passionate about their growth. Your ears don’t lie to you. Watching each other improve fuels everyone’s progress. Breakthroughs become contagious.
I’ve watched complete beginners go from struggling with pitch to singing with precision, power, and control. I’ve seen students who were once terrified to sing in public now confidently perform at our monthly talent shows, karaoke events, or even post covers online.
It’s changed me too. I used to doubt my coaching methods, and even my own voice. I didn’t have a formal music degree — and at one point, I was scared to sing in front of people too. But creating this community taught me it’s okay to mess up, as long as you keep trying. I’m not just helping others grow — I’m growing with them.
I built the community I wish I had when I first started.
To support even more beginners, I created Pocket Singers FREE — offering courses to strengthen their ear for pitch and build trust in my methods. I included a free 7-Day Singing Course to help people learn the basics and prepare for our premium community, Pocket Singers Elite.
Inside Pocket Singers Elite (#2 on Skool for Music), my team and I host almost-daily vocal workshops and feedback sessions. We also have a private Discord where members practice and sing throughout the day. Every week, we launch singing challenges, and on weekends, we host karaoke-themed events to help members practice performing.
Outside the community, I create content for YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, reaching nearly 1.7 million followers collectively. Every Thursday night, I go LIVE on TikTok to offer free mini-coaching sessions to show that real vocal change can happen in less than 10 minutes.
These moments remind me why I started. I’m not just leading them — I’m walking this journey with them. They get to watch me fail, grow, and transform too.
At 25 years old, I finally found a home for my passions — teaching and singing.
Through Pocket Singers Elite, I’ve learned that singing is about so much more than technique. It’s about connection, growth, and expression. It’s about helping people believe in themselves when no one else did.
And for me, that’s been the most fulfilling part of it all.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Zane Rima—vocal coach, singer-songwriter, content creator, and the founder of Pocket Singers Elite and CEO of AmaZane Media. I make singing accessible, fun, and empowering for artists at all levels. My work is rooted in the belief that great technique and authentic expression go hand in hand. I’ve coached thousands of singers—ranging from complete beginners to professional performers—and I focus on helping each person discover and develop their unique voice.
What sets my work apart is how I blend entertainment, education, and empathy. I know what it’s like to be an insecure beginner. I know what it’s like to push too hard, to doubt your talent, to feel stuck. That’s why I focus not just on the how, but also the why. I teach singers to listen to their body, build healthy habits, and trust their voice.
I started my journey at 15 years old by sharing singing videos and tutorials on YouTube, just because I loved it. I didn’t have access to expensive lessons growing up, so I figured things out through trial, error, and pure passion. Over time, my small hobby turned into a growing online presence, and eventually, a full-blown career. Now at 25, I have almost 1.7 million followers across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok — and more importantly, I’ve been able to help thousands of singers around the world find their voices.
I specialize in simplifying singing techniques, especially for beginners who feel stuck or overwhelmed. Through my brand, I offer:
Pocket Singers FREE: A free online community with beginner courses to help singers develop their ear, pitch, and confidence.
Pocket Singers ELITE: A premium membership community (currently the #2 Music community on Skool!) offering almost-daily live vocal workshops, feedback sessions, Discord practice rooms, singing challenges, karaoke events, and a full singing course curriculum structured around my proven 5-Phase Singing Journey framework.
One-on-One and Group Vocal Coaching: Occasionally, I open limited 1:1 coaching spots or host live feedback events (even free ones through TikTok Lives!) to help singers directly.
Social Media Content: Educational and motivational singing content across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok — making vocal improvement more accessible and less intimidating to millions of people.
AmaZane Media: Behind the scenes, my team and I work hard to manage the operations, content production, coaching programs, and creative direction for everything we build.
The biggest problems I solve for my clients and students are self-doubt and lack of clear direction. A lot of people who dream of singing feel lost, discouraged, or don’t know who to trust. My mission is to create a safe, encouraging space where learning to sing actually feels doable — and fun — even if you’re starting from scratch. I also aim to show that you don’t need to have a “perfect background” or expensive private lessons to find your voice. Consistency, smart practice, and community support can take you further than you think.
What I think sets me apart is that I’m walking this journey with my students. I’m not some untouchable guru. I’m still growing as a singer myself, and I’m transparent about my own imperfections, struggles, and breakthroughs. I built the exact community I wish existed when I first started out — one where beginners feel welcome, supported, and empowered to believe in their potential.
I’m most proud of the transformations I get to witness. Seeing members go from being scared to sing in front of anyone to confidently performing in front of the entire community — and sometimes even in front of thousands online — has been the most beautiful reward.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about my brand and my work, it’s this: We’re not just teaching singing techniques — we’re helping people rediscover their confidence, their voice, and sometimes even their identity through music. Pocket Singers is about more than just hitting the right notes. It’s about personal growth, connection, and proving to yourself that you’re capable of more than you think.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about me and my brand, it’s this: Singing should feel good. It should energize you, challenge you, and heal you. Whether you’re singing in the car, on a stage, or into your phone camera—I’m here to help you sound your best and feel your best, too
This is just the beginning — and I’m so excited for what’s ahead.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding part of being an artist and creative is watching someone transform in real time — especially when they finally hear the voice they didn’t know they had. It’s that moment their eyes light up, their confidence shifts, and they realize, “Wait… I can actually do this.”
That breakthrough — whether it happens in a coaching session, a workshop, or even a quick social media clip — reminds me why I do what I do. As a creator, I get to teach, express, heal, and connect all at once.
It’s not just about the music — it’s about helping people believe in themselves when they didn’t before. And that’s something I’ll never take for granted.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One of the most meaningful examples of resilience in my life is how strongly I’ve leaned on my faith in Christ. Whenever fear or self-doubt tried to take over — in singing, coaching, or content creation — I reminded myself that God’s plan is always greater than mine. Even if I didn’t understand it in the moment, He always revealed the “why” months later.
When I was 16, I nearly gave up on YouTube. I felt invisible, like no one was watching. Then out of nowhere, I won a Sing Movie contest and got flown to LA to visit the YouTube Headquarters. It felt like a divine sign that I was seen — and that I shouldn’t quit.

That moment sparked the next wave of growth. My channel hit 10k, then 50k, then 100k subscribers. But after high school, I still felt lost. I switched majors multiple times, starting with Nursing, then Business, and eventually going back to Nursing after the pandemic. My mom — a strong woman of faith who supported our family through my dad’s health issues — inspired me to follow her path. I wanted to retire her one day.
During nursing school, I stopped coaching and took a break from YouTube. In summer 2023, a planned trip to the Philippines fell through, and I lost what little money I had saved. But instead of spiraling, I took it as a chance to go all-in on content and try vocal coaching online — something I’d never done professionally.
I offered free sessions at first, using what I’d learned from Nursing: observe cues, assess the root issue, and treat it. That became my coaching method — helping singers see real change within minutes.
Once I started posting before-and-after transformations, my Instagram grew from 25k to 200k in just a few months. Coaching demand exploded. I completed over 1000 hours of vocal coaching and created a 5-Phase Framework based on the patterns I saw in my students’ journeys.
That’s when I launched Pocket Singers — a global singing community where people grow together through live workshops, feedback, and fun challenges. What started as a solo journey became a movement. I even brought on other coaches to help scale the impact and reach more voices.
At one point, I thought I had to become a nurse to help people. But God showed me another way — through music and teaching. Seeing my students discover their voices, and the joy in their eyes, reminded me that this is where I’m meant to be.
My resilience came from obedience, even when the path didn’t make sense. And now, I get to help others believe in their potential — just like I had to believe in mine.
