We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Zamyra Hall a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Zamyra, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us about an important lesson you learned while working at a prior job?
The most important I have learned from previous jobs is that you are and asset. You are a big deal and belong in every room you enter. Previously I have had employers look at me as just a number or try to discout what I bring to the table as a provider. Being taken advantage of in the past has reminded me that it is my job and mine alone to secure my life and do not be afraid to negotiate for what you are worth. I am an asset in every room I enter.

Zamyra, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Zamyra Hall. I am a physician associate and have been in medicine since 2014. I started Principle Artistry to deliver a customized and hands on experience for all Women, particular women of color.
I initially started this business as I saw that the beauty indust seriously lacked diversity and my desire is to deliver a white glove experience to all my clients. I also want to empower and educate women to make the best decision for themselves.
I think what sets me out is that I take time to listen to clients concerns and answer all question.
I am most proud of actually starting by business. It has been a roller coaster but this is the first time I’ve ever stepped out on faith and because I’m doing it Im I’m already winning.
One thing I would like my future clients to know is that I care about you and I appreciate you trusting me with your biggest asset, your face. My goal is to help you be your best self and confident about the skin you are in. I also have a passion for teaching you how to properly care for your skin as well as be filter free in 2023

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Every celebration doesn’t require a purchase. You can celebrate your mile stones without getting a big, over the top splurge gift. I’m unlearning that most things will be here when I’m ready for them and can comfortably afford them

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I first decided to open a medspa I was met with so much resistance regarding getting my supplies and brands taking me seriously. Seemed at one point that everywhere I turned there was more red tape. My mothers health was rapidly declining, I’m a wife working a full time and the mom of two toddlers. After my mom passed I wondered if this was the right time to be stepping into this venture. I continue to remind myself that there are no failures with trying.
