We were lucky to catch up with Zack Jurasek recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Zack, thanks for joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea

Well, it probably started when I was about 13years old. I would go flounder gigging on the Texas coast and it always fascinated me the amount of aquatic nightlife that quite literally comes to life at night. We have bioluminescent jellyfish to flounder and even the random jumping fish. All of this has always excited me. I found the Clear kayaks online and made my first order in which I had plans of just utilizing it as a floundering vessel. My best friend and myself were talking and it was a idea on a whim if we could change colors on the lights. I did some research and found one of the best lighting companies we deal with to date. Once I got the lighting and tested everything I was amazed, my friends were amazed and that was the point I knew I had to figure out how to get this into a business. After months of due diligence and research I got the proper clearance from Texas parks and wildlife and a national United State Coast Guard Certificate for each vessel in our fleet. The Name came into fruition shortly afterwards and the Trademark to follow. I went into test phase at the end of 2021 for 2 months. With a very warm welcoming from the community, I then tweaked somethings that are now seen industry wide and officially started March 1st of 2022.

Zack, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

As introductions go, my name is Zack, also known as Captain Zack Sparrow on tour. Yes it’s a bit silly, but it sets the tone for the entire night afterwards. I absolutely love telling all my dad jokes and getting all the eye rolls. Just recently i was chased by about 4 ducks in my guide kayak… they thought i was a quack dealer. Can you open up about how you funded your business?

In the words of Tony Robbins “Burn the boats to take the island”

I sold every large asset i had to launch GlowRow into the universe and help create core memories for the people that have never experienced such things as aquatic nightlife. Do i regret it? Heck no! I have no plan B. GlowRow will succeed and The massive expansion, GlowRow guides, and Crew teams that are behind this company shows we are going to go very far. Our model is successful and so is our vision to remove the fear and turn it into fascination.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Along the way I’ve come up against a lot of safety restrictions. These to include harbor masters reluctant of the safety aspect, public misconception of kayaking at night being illegal, and property restrictions in certain areas. All of which are now behind us by our proven in use concept. Our guides are awesome at this too. We have safety briefings before every tour that are engaging and memorable as well. You will just have to come see it for yourself.
