We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Zachary Keats a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Zachary , appreciate you joining us today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?
Every once in a while a client needs their dog dropped off somewhere else, or checked in on at their home on an off day… even though it’s not part of my normal duties, considering I see their dog every day and I know them very well, I am the most appropriate person for this. The clients are very appreciative on this personalized favors every so often having to do with their pups, which may as well be their child. They only trust so many people with such responsibility.

Zachary , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a professional dog pack hiker, my role is multifaceted and deeply rooted in the principles of consistency, structure, and obedience training. In the heart of nature’s trails, as a dog pack hiker, I lead a symphony of paws through diverse terrains. With a keen understanding of pack structure, I guide dogs of all sizes and breeds, instilling harmony within the group. My daily encounters with the same dogs foster a unique bond and a sense of familiarity, essential for maintaining order and mutual respect.
Each hike is more than a physical journey; it’s an exercise in social dynamics and discipline. I am the alpha, setting the pace and the rules, while the dogs learn to navigate their positions within the pack. This consistent interaction is crucial for reinforcing good behavior and obedience, as dogs thrive on predictable patterns and clear expectations.
My expertise extends beyond the leash. I provide a framework for dogs to understand their world and their place within it. Through RuffHikes guidance, each member of the pack learns to coexist, respond to commands, and respect boundaries. This ongoing obedience training is vital for their well-being and the safety of the pack.
In essence, its not just about hiking; it’s about shaping well-balanced canines, ready to face the world with confidence and calmness. It’s a role that demands patience, leadership, and a deep love for man’s best friend.
