We were lucky to catch up with Zach Holloway recently and have shared our conversation below.
Zach, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear from you about what you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry and why it matters.
Corporate America tends to look more at how to push the numbers than the methods they take. There is a fortune 500 company that will price items at a cost that loses money on order to take over a market. Another one was experiencing great growth as well as customer and employee retention and satisfaction when they suddenly changed it all. They started playing off herds of employees multiple times a year to switch to over seas, automated, or new pay service. At Holloway customs we believe in pushing quality communication, high level skill, and detail. We believe that the numbers will follow these often enough.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Holloway Customs is the result of decades of experience in different trades and the desire to help more customers get there quality they deserve. I began as a trim carpenter over 20 years ago. Then I added in painting, tile work and more. As we grew we scouted for top tier professionals in our area. Or company has the best of the best that we have been able to gather to take care of most household needs including flooring, tile, glass, counters, drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and more.
A large differentiator for us is management experience. We have experienced teachers and telecommunications managers which help with communicating more often and clearer than most contractors.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
Starting our company was actually all about timing. I was a manager for a telecommunications company before starting the business. I always showed friends and coworkers the work that I did on the side improving houses. People constantly told me that I should be doing that full time. In 2020 my company started laying off management by the masses. My department was part of the original wave which meant I needed to find something new, but also that I got a good severance. I looked around at what jobs were out there for a week and decided to create my new job by making my side job my main job. Holloway Customs was formed and we’ve been growing since.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
At Holloway Customs we really strive to be the best. This includes many aspects. We are continually attending trainings and working towards new licenses. We also do market get together and shadowing. We work with other business owners to build professionally. We strive to have the best communication and seek feedback and actually make changes based on feedback.
