We recently connected with Zach Hodj and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Zach thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I taught myself and watched other people dj. Shadowing someone else would definitely speed up the learning process. Skills such as networking and organization are key. Competition gradually became a greater obstacle.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got into DJing during college. I started playing frat parties and college parties then eventually evolved into clubs then music venues and festivals. I am very proud of the music festival and venues I have performed at around the US. Going to places I would have never gone to if it weren’t for music.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding thing as a DJ is seeing people dance to your music. It is one of the most powerful feelings in the world and to see the smiles on their faces brings me joy. The amazing people I met throughout this journey is the best part.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Be consistent and relevant as possible when it comes to social media. Put out great content that will capture and audiences attention and make them want to come back for more. Stay dedicated and maybe stick to a daily or weekly schedule when posting. Be as active as you can and respond to your fans comments and reach out to them if you have time to see how they are doing!
