We recently connected with Zach Earhart and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Zach, thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
A career as an entrepreneur/artist means endless risks. If you want to be something the world values, you must sacrifice that comfort of knowing what might happen. My biggest risk is spending $800+ on traveling to other cities to work with people who inspire me for free. Rex hung out through DMs, I would meet up to shoot with these people. Months later all my travel photos are published in magazines so it worked out
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a director & photographer, but one with a unique eye. For my clients I go all out to make sure they look & feel amazing. From styling to location scouting a shoot has many aspects which all matter equally, and I do as much as I can. If there’s a part I can’t handle there’s always teammates that I involve so that we can execute properly. It’s important to understand that we cannot do this all alone.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
It’s all about eachother. In this industry it’s easy to develop a selfish mindset but the best thing you can do for your brand is to help others be better. Spreading love is like watering plants. It’s all growth.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Money is not the motive. I used to do everything for money. It’s all I wanted. But I realized at a young age that money is not as important as the vision, and the happiness you get from seeing it thru. So I try to remind myself that once the world can see my vision I’ll have enough money to keep creating.
