We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Zabreon Wright a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Zabreon, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Zabreon Y Wright Hairstylist|Entrepreneur|Self-Care Coach
My name is Zabreon Wright I am the founder of BecomingHer a women empowerment organization I started in 2022. I’ve created this movement because as women we all come from different backgrounds different stories. I enjoy helping women embrace their true selves through self-love,healing and self-care techniques.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I come from a small city by the name of Saint Petersburg, growing up I was never shown the importance of speaking positively over yourself, embracing who you truly are and being confident in that power. Now as a fully grown adult these are practices I began to do for myself I believe this should start at a very young age if not being taught already. My goal is to share the light that I found within myself with women of all ages who may need it.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn would be that it’s ok to fail it’s ok to make mistakes. I achieved getting my first salon saving for 2years I had to close down after just the first year. I wanted to quit and not take another risk yet here I am today. Taking a risk could involve failure but that’s how I’ve grown and become who I am today. Giving other women the knowledge that I’ve learned from my failures and mistakes is truly rewarding.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I always like to encourage anyone running a business or working a job that if it no longer fills you up with light or brings you happiness there is time for a change. I know that hair is my passion but I know that my purpose is to help other women by giving them light through being a stylist that’s is how I ended up taking this pivot in my journey realizing I wasn’t happy and everything around no longer brought me happiness. Money no longer mattered I was yearning for inner healing.
