We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Zaadé Tiff a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Zaadé thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Some of the most interesting parts of our journey emerge from areas where we believe something that most people in our industry do not – do you have something like that?
I think one of the biggest subjects these days comes down to social media and the misinformation that gets thrown around within it. There are so many different places to go and get skincare advise and informationn these days, as opposed to when you really had no other choice than going to a doctor, plastic surgeon, nurse, dermatologist, or aesthetician. All of these dources have been through school, extensive trainings, exams, etc with licenses and degrees of some sort. These are the only people that in my opinion should be giving any kind of anything on skincare …and the only ones you should be going to. There are so much wrong info and advice going out from wonderful people that may be passionate about it…but at the end of the day are not trained to do so. Resulting in people putting themselves in scary situations and really ruining their skin…or just not doing what’s right for what they need. I think we all just need to be careful with this and make sure we are making the right choices as professionals and as clients to keep everyone safe! Leave it up to the professionals! :-)

Zaadé, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I e been an Aesthetician for about 10 years now. It’s been a journey. I’ve paid my dues and been through many jobs in the aesthetics industry …(doing waxing, brows, lashes…working for plastic surgeons, nurses, and med spas) I believe in learning as many trades within the industry just so you know what your doing and dealing with later down the line if you plan to have your own business, but to find what you are good at and focus on that. I’d rather be great at one thing than okay at many. But still want to be educated on all the things! Having said all of that, I have finally found my calling specifically in skincare! Medical I believe in results driven facials while incorporating lymphatic drainage massage along with light therapy and medical grade and clean products,…as opposed to what I call just giving relaxation facials. And don’t forget your. SPF! There is something so gratifying about seeing a consistent clients sticking to our routine and getting results. My mobile business that I’m building offers peels, hydra, needling, etc. I eventually will have my own space for people to come, but I also balance this out by working with a wellness one stop shop called Love.Life in El Segundo. We offer peels light therapy facial massage and with that you get to use the recovery of cold plunge, infrared saunas, steam room etc. it’s a great balance. On the days I am not building my own business, I am there! Whether you use my mobile services or come see me at Love.Life..,you are in great hands (literally)!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Building clientele is a long process. The only way for it to work is to stay consistent. I’ve learned the hard way over time that moving around makes it very hard to keep clients. They want to feel comfortable with your situation and that is important. What’s also important is that I find my comfort too. I feel like I’m slowly but surely cozying into where I’m supposed to be. I do appreciate my clients that have stuck with me along the way though! Basically though…if you know what you are doing and give people results in a good environment and work with them…your clients will stay and send others your way. That’s is ultimately how I have grown my clientele over time and I look forward to gaining more!

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The source of clients these days is very simple. Social media and word of mouth/ client referrals! Do what you know and know what you do. Be good to your clients and stay active on socials and it all starts to fall in place! Be as consistent as possible!
