We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Yzaiah Jordan. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Yzaiah below.
Yzaiah , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
My most meaningful project I worked on was A.L.O.N.E which is a acronym for Always Living Off New Emotions.
The sequel to my alternative album “Songs About Her” , last project was about both perspectives of a broken relationship.
the perspective of A.L.O.N.E is the after effect of Songs About Her but this time with more alternative jazz and pop elements in there too. I feel like this project displayed me in a different light, I felt like they were experiencing the side of me I call Jacky Lavish. They may have saw me before but this time I felt as if they actually seen me and was able to hear everything I’m saying, that’s what means the most. that people tuned into the frequency I’m on.
I included things in the cover art to help express the tone of the album such as a raining day, early morning condensation and Corduroy. A.L.O.N.E took two weeks to make but I was writing the project in my mind for about 6 months.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Yzaiah Jordan also known as AQUAMANJORDAN . I’m a multi-genre music artist , producer and engineer. aside from making music I’m known as a Songwriter and composer as well , I help provide strategy and insight.
what separates me from most artist is each alias of mine as a artist has a distinctive different sound, i use the aliases to describe different point of views . I’m most proud of the replay value and the reach my music has received overtime it means something to me that my music meant something to you.
Right now I’m focused on my upcoming E.P “The Longest Fall” self-produced and recorded by me.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My very first vocal project “Blue Roses” was recorded off a iPhone 5 and mixed with my laptop daws at the time. at first I thought it was a terrible idea because of the mixing quality but after sources started hearing about it I gained respect not from the sound but from the dedication and ambition. A month later my younger brother suggests that we shoot a music video from the iPhone and displayed the idea to me, we didn’t have a lot of crazy effects, but we did the best we can with the sources we had.
My brother is often referred to as “K.O” because he captures the perfect shot .
Sometimes when you’re misunderstood the universe still understands the energy you were trying to create. If theres a way , there is a way .
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a artist is the results and energy your audience gives you , but also the fact that whether they like it or not they took time to listen
