Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yvonne Moryc. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Yvonne, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the story of how you went from this being just an idea to making it into something real.
In 2008 I established my business as a wedding photographer. In 2012 I belonged to a women’s networking group and one of the ladies wanted me to take boudoir photos of her for her 50th wedding anniversary present to her husband. Word traveled fast throughout the group and soon enough I was photographing those ladies in the networking group quite a bit. I fell in love with that niche right away! I started incorporating boudoir photos of my brides on their wedding day in their undergarments with their veil on and they LOVED it and so did I! I got tired of photographing weddings in 2019 so I decided to photograph Boudoir full time because I felt like I gave a more meaningful experience to my clients.
Yvonne, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am Yvonne, and I look forward to meeting you! I am the owner and photographer of Boudoir Photos by Yvonne. I am located in gorgeous Southeast Michigan, and my goal is to help women love themselves and celebrate their unique femininity through stunning photos.
This is my story of how I became a Boudoir photographer, and why I love what I do!!
I have been a professional photographer since 2008. My journey with photography began with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Akron. I majored in Graphic Design, Photography and Illustration. From there, I pursued graphic design in print for 15 years. My mission is built on the principle of taking high quality photographs while providing a fun, comfortable and luxurious experience for each and every woman that I photograph.
After many years of photographing families, weddings and seniors, I saw a need for a boudoir photographer in the Ohio and Michigan area, and my company, Boudoir Photos By Yvonne, was born.
I was hooked after my first shoot. The ability to give women confidence in and show them a side of themselves that they don’t usually see is very rewarding.

I recently renovated my full basement into a beautiful photo studio, complete with a clawfoot tub and many other fun and beautiful areas for you to use. I hope you love my Michigan Boudoir photo studio as much as I do. I really love shooting there, and am honored by the women who trust me to capture their unique beauty.
I offer a totally luxurious boudoir experience, and it begins the moment you walk through my door. It starts in hair and makeup, and continues throughout your wardrobe consultation and personalized boudoir photoshoot. You will feel like a model for the day and I hope you leave with a spring of confidence in your step.
If you’re still with me, here is a more in depth version of my story.
When my beautiful son was born, I did what all new parents do. I took a million photos of him! I was absolutely fascinated with documenting every little phase on camera. He was, and still is, my muse and my absolute favorite subject to photograph. I realized photography is a magical art, and it will capture a moment in time, and bring those memories back each time you view a certain photo.
Over the years, I have taken many classes to learn new techniques. I practice all the time and am able to create luxury photos that match the vision I have in my head. I am still learning every single day, and love to use what I have learned to show you that Boudoir Photography is for everyBODY, regardless of age, shape or size. I love to create lasting memories for you through my photos.
Being in Southeast Michigan, we get snow. A lot sometimes. Which makes it hard to do outdoor photos when the long winter sets in. No one wants to take pictures in 10 degree weather! This also motivated me to build my Southeast Michigan photo studio, where I can shoot your photos regardless of weather, and where you will be very comfortable.
If you are wondering what boudoir (pronounced bood-wahr) is, I’ll explain. The word is French and it means a woman’s bedroom. Boudoir photography is sometimes described as a Victoria’s Secret type shoot for the everyday woman. Whether you are looking for flirty, sexy or daring, I will work with you to bring your vision to life.
A boudoir photoshoot with me will always be private and customized personally to you. I only shoot 15-20 clients a month. This gives me the ability to offer every woman a personalized luxury experience, tailored to her. Every shoot at my Michigan boudoir studio begins with pampering in hair and makeup and a wardrobe consultation.
My style of photographs are fun, sexy, and sultry. Some people believe that boudoir photos are pornographic and taboo. I see it as an opportunity for all women to be comfortable and confident in their own skin and to celebrate their beauty. My lighting and poses are designed to make you look beautiful!
I will also take before and after photos of you, showing your natural beautiful self and the knockout you are after hair, makeup and lashes. It is so fun for me to see both sides of you. I also love to show you the different products, such as albums, prints and wall art that can be given as gifts to display your gorgeous boudoir photos.
My very favorite aspect of my job as a boudoir photographer is hearing how excited you are when you see your photos. I am happy every day to help empower women through stunning portraits. I love my job and will always believe that photography is a piece of magic we can hold in our hands.
I have been in the beautiful Southeast Michigan area for many years, and I love it here. I have photographed women from all over the Michigan and Ohio area, and all the cities in between. My gorgeous boudoir studio is located just over the line in Lambertville, Michigan and it is easy to get to from Ohio. Whether you are from Detroit or Toledo, Farmington Hills or Perrsyburg, I would love to give you a personal and customized experience in my boudoir photo studio.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to help women love themselves and celebrate their unique femininity through stunning photos.
I have been a professional photographer since 2008 and I truly believe that boudoir is for ever woman, regardless of age, size or shape. Giving boudoir photos as a gift is really fun, but this experience is really for YOU.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I used to be a wedding & family photographer. It didn’t really feed my soul anymore and I noticed a lot more wedding & family photographers entering the industry that had full time jobs and they not charging enough money for their services. It took a major hit on us legitimate businesses (you know the ones that have employees, pay taxes & insurance). So, I decided in 2019 after photographing a lot of women in my women’s networking group to create a niche website & socail media channels specifically for boudoir and started marketing to women all around me. It took off!!! The in March of 2020 when the pandemic hit, I was at a standstill, so I dove more into website & automation development, and gave to charity when sessions were bought in advance. During the pandemic I also built out an 800 sq. ft. beautiful photo studio in my basement – I wanted to keep it separated from the rest of my house – it was the best decision I ever made because I was able to get the contractors working & building it out while the country was literally shut down.
