We were lucky to catch up with Yvonne Heimann recently and have shared our conversation below.
Yvonne, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My mission is deeply personal to me, as it stems from my own journey as an entrepreneur and caretaker.
When my husband Pete lost his battle with cancer in 2014, it was that devastating experience that changed the course of my life forever. It was during this time that I came to realize just how precious our time is, and how important it is to use it wisely.
As I navigated my way through grief and the complexities of running two companies, I knew that I needed to find a way to make the most of every moment. That’s when I realized that the systems and processes I had put in place in my businesses were the key to managing everything on my plate, even during the most difficult of times.
As I began to work with other entrepreneurs and help them build efficient, badass, and life-proof businesses, I felt a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment. I knew that I was making a difference in their lives, and helping them avoid the same overwhelm and stress that I had experienced.
Through my work at AskYvi.com, I have the opportunity to empower entrepreneurs worldwide to take control of their time, build successful businesses, and create lives they truly love.
I’m passionate about what I do, and I’m committed to making a positive impact in the world, one entrepreneur at a time.
Yvonne, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit and I knew from a young age that I didn’t want to be an employee. As a young woman in Germany, I pursued a degree in as Electrician, at times working alongside my dad.
By the age of 22, I decided it was time to own my own business: a local pub that quickly became a beloved gathering spot for the community. I loved being an entrepreneur, and I loved the sense of freedom and control that came with running my own business.
But as much as I enjoyed the hospitality industry, I knew that there was more out there for me. I wanted to work with other entrepreneurs, to help them build successful businesses and achieve their own dreams of freedom and success.
That’s what led me to sunny California, where I established my consulting business, Ask Yvi. I was thrilled to work with a wide range of entrepreneurs, from small startups to larger companies, and to use my skills and expertise to help them build efficient, effective systems that would allow them to scale and grow.
Over time, my work at Ask Yvi became more than just a job: it became a calling. As I saw the impact that my work was having on the lives of entrepreneurs worldwide, I knew that this was what I was meant to do. I became passionate about sharing my knowledge and expertise with others, and about helping entrepreneurs build businesses that could withstand anything.
Today, I’m proud to be a business efficiency consultant and to work with clients all over the world to help them achieve their goals and create lives they truly love. I’m excited about the journey ahead, and I’m committed to making a positive impact in the world, one entrepreneur at a time.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One story that comes to mind when I think of my resilience as an entrepreneur is the time when I was running two companies while also being my husband’s caretaker during his battle with cancer.
As you can imagine, this was an incredibly challenging time in my life. I was juggling so many responsibilities and trying to keep everything afloat while also dealing with the emotional toll of watching someone I loved suffer. There were days when I didn’t know how I was going to make it through.
But despite all of the challenges, I kept going. I leaned on my people for support, and I dug deep to find the strength and resilience to keep pushing forward.
Looking back on that time in my life, I’m proud of what I was able to accomplish. I learned so much about myself and my capabilities, and I proved to myself that I truly am resilient and capable of overcoming even the toughest of challenges.
This experience has taught me that resilience isn’t just about bouncing back from adversity – it’s about staying true to your purpose and your mission, even when things get tough. It’s about digging deep and finding the strength to keep going, even when you feel like giving up.
I carry this lesson with me every day as I work with entrepreneurs to help them build businesses that can withstand anything. I know firsthand what it takes to be resilient, and I’m honored to share my knowledge and expertise with others who are on their own journeys of resilience and entrepreneurship.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I first started out on social media, I didn’t have much of a plan.
Working in my business – I was frustrated with the limitations of Asana, so I decided to vent my frustration in a Facebook Live video. It was a pretty crappy recording, but something about it resonated with people. I decided to upload it to YouTube and see what would happen.
To my surprise, the video started getting views and comments. People were reaching out to me to ask about my experience with ClickUp, the project management tool I had mentioned in the video and I was moving to.
I realized that I had struck a nerve with entrepreneurs who were also frustrated with the limitations of Asana and looking for a better solution.
That’s when I decided to lean into this newfound interest in ClickUp and start creating more content about it. I started posting videos regularly, sharing my tips and tricks for using ClickUp to streamline my business and stay organized.
Over time, my YouTube channel grew and I became ClickUp’s startup evangelist. I started getting more and more clients and opportunities through my channel.
My advice for those just starting to build their social media presence is to be authentic and share your unique perspective with the world. Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable and share your struggles, because that’s often what resonates with people the most. And don’t worry about being perfect – my first video was far from perfect, but it still struck a chord with people.
Also, be consistent and persistent. Building an audience takes time and effort, but if you’re passionate about what you’re doing and you’re providing value to your audience, the growth will come.
So, don’t be afraid to share your unique perspective and be consistent with your content. You never know where it might lead you!
