We recently connected with Yvonne Cote and have shared our conversation below.

Yvonne, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.

Taking a Risk…well for me the biggest and most scariest risk I have ever taken was hitting the reset button on life…and starting over. For me, this journey onto a new life path started in 2011, following a near-death experience. Prior to this incident, I was a very successful Director of Human Resources, a mom to three very busy teenage boys, and in a new marriage with a partner that traveled out of town for work all the time. Life was busy…but we always seem to manage and get through everything that need to get done…that is, until one day when everything changed.

Following my near-death incident, my life was never the same. I went from being a very out-going, vibrant person, to literally someone who was afraid of her own shadow…and afraid to leave the house. I immediately began suffering from severe panic and anxiety following my incident, and after months of medical exams and specialty testing, I was always told the same thing, there is nothing wrong with you.

After months and heading into years of being in a constant state of panic and anxiety, every day seemed like a bigger and bigger challenge to get up and try to get to work, being around people became so unbearable, that the only thing I wanted to do was stay home and close myself off from the rest of the world. It was at this point, that my husband and I decided to try to make some drastic changes. He was exhausted from traveling all the time, coming home, and having to do all errands and up-keep…we needed to do something!

After many discussions, we both came to the decision that we needed a fresh start. Like everything else that was slowly crumbling down around us…so was our marriage.

So, drastic times…calls for drastic measures. I quit my job, an industry that I had been in for over 20 years, put our house on the market and decided to move halfway across the country…all in an attempt to get that fresh start. But to be honest…even after settling in…I was still suffering from panic and anxiety, nothing had changed for me, except now being in a strange town, in a new house, and being separated from my family.

Being no better off…what was I going to do about work? I could barely leave the house…how was I going to be able to attend a job interview…and my next challenge was, my CHRP designation required me to attend courses to stay up-to-date, and I just didn’t have it in me anymore. However, if I don’t keep up my designation I lose it…which means that I would likely never get a job in a field that I have studied for all my life. The HRPANO associate has rules in place, that if you let your designation lapse, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree in HR to be able to get it back, and unfortunately I was grandfathered in with all my College education. So for me, letting this lapse was one of the biggest risks I have ever taken.

To make a long story short…what I have since learned on my journey, is that my near-death experience, in my opinion, was my team of Angels hitting my re-set button. My life path was never for me to be working in HR. After working with many mentors, I learned that my true calling and life purpose was to be a light worker. And once I surrendered to the Universe and fully engaged with this new identity…I was able to get my life back.

Today I am happy to report that I am back to doing and enjoying an unrestricted life! Once I learned to embrace my true souls purpose and calling, I have been able to start my own business and now spend each day following my passions which are energy healing with Reiki, Angels, Moonology and Color Therapy. My Business is called “There is an Angel for That” as I believe that no matter what you situation is…there is an Angel that you can call upon for help!!

Yvonne, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Well as I explained in the previous question, I got into this business following a near-death experience. I believe that this incident occurred as an indication that I was not following my true soul’s purpose. It wasn’t until after meeting and working with many mentors, that it became crystal clear to me that I need to be following a different life path.

My real healing journey began once I started to understand that even as a young child, I had been experiencing things that none of my friends could relate to. I was able to see swirls of color around people and objects…and to be honest, I just assumed that everyone else could see them as well. However, if I point out a really unique color I was seeing…my friends didn’t understand what I was talking about. So after a while…I stopped bringing it up, as they started to tell me that I was “weird” and I didn’t like that. As well, I never felt like I was alone. I was always someone who wanted to read out loud…and this has never gone away from me to this day. I always feel like I have “something” surrounding me, and when I read, I feel like I am connecting with them as well.

Once I started down my spiritual path and journey I have had the pleasure of working with many great mentors. I mentored under Doreen Virtue, and became a “Certified Angel practitioner”. When she moved away from working with Angels, I then mentored under Kyle Gray and became a Certified Angel Guide. Today if you look up Kyle Gray on his website he has a tab called “Certified Practitioners” and under that tab, I am proudly listed. As well, I became certified by both Doreen Virtue/Radleigh Valentine and Kyle Gray as an Angel Card Reader and Angel Tarot Reader.
As well I studied and took class and courses from some very world-renowned Psychic and Mediums, such as Carmel Joy Baird, Thomas John, Janet Nohavec, Rhys Wynn Davies, and this is when I realized that yes I am a psychic medium!
I have also become a Reiki Master, a Certified Moonologist, as well as becoming Certified in Color Therapy.

I have started my own business it is called “There is an Angel for That” !! I am a true believer that no matter what situation you have going on in life…There is an Angel for That! So essentially, in my business, I help overwhelmed people become unstuck, by harnessing the power of Angelic Guidance, Moon Energy, and Color Frequency!! As well, I am a spiritual mentor, and I teach many courses and webinars in working with Guardian Angels, Archangels, moon energy, and how color can help heal you. I have also recently received a certificate of achievement in Colors of Design academy, and I am now a Branding Soul Consultant. This particular achievement is all about incorporating colors and numerology using the Colour mirrors system, which now allows me to provide beautiful readings such as Soulful Color Readings, Prediction Readings, and Family Tree Readings.

The reason why I became a Certified Moonologist, was because I always felt a pull toward the moon. And in meditation, my Angels would tell me that I really needed to start paying closer attention to the different moon phases and the “timing” of planning things in my business. So when Hay House was offering Yasmin Boland’s course in Moonology, it felt like a natural progression in my learning. This has become extremely powerful, as I have the ability to work with clients who are wanting to get a handle on working with the natural ebb and flow of the moon’s energy.

And lastly, I recently began my own radio show on VoiceAmerica called you guessed it… “There is an Angel for That.”
The intent of the radio show is all about educating and helping the listeners make connections to their Angels and Archangels, as well as, learning how to tap into their own intuition.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

The best source of new clients for me…involved getting out more into the world, and stop fearing what other’s would think about me. I quickly learned after starting my business, that by just having a website and and social media groups like Facebook and Instagram that this wasn’t enough. I learned that I needed to build my reputation as well as my business, meaning that people needed to hear my story, who I am, actually see my face, and hear my voice to build a connection with them and most importantly trust.

So I knew that I somehow needed to get on the map. My first big opportunity came, when Kyle Gray, one of my spiritual mentors offered this amazing opportunity for those of us who became certified with him, to be listed on his website under “certified practitioners”. As he has such a large following, and has many people visit his website daily, I found that people where clicking on the link listed to my website for readings.

I also found it very helpful to join other marketing groups offered on various platforms. This gave me the opportunity to tell many people “my story” which often inspired them to book a session with myself.

And the biggest source of attraction new clients right now, was starting my own radio show on VoiceAmerica, the Empowerment channel called “There is an Angel for That”. I started this in December of 2022, and this has really helped to start to build that community of people and followers.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

The biggest lesson that I have had to unlearn is telling myself that I wasn’t good enough! For many years working as a Director of Human Resources, and I can tell you that there were very few days when you get a compliment on anything. So I can tell you first hand, that after been told for long by people that they can do your job better than you…it’s really easy to fall into that belief, that you aren’t good enough.

So when I started my business, I always had in the back of my mind, that I wasn’t good enough. I didn’t really want to promote who I was…or what I was doing, as I always felt that there was someone else out there that could it better than me. It wasn’t until I really delved in deep with Reiki and started on my on healing journey, that I finally realized that I am enough!!

I had to spend a lot of time working through many past traumas and issues that had always lead me to judge people, as well as, put myself into competition with people. It was through lots of meditation, self-care and self-healing that I came to the realization that I was the person blocking a lot of abundance that the Universe has to offer…by staying in these lower vibrational energies.

Today I am happy to report that by letting go of all those limiting beliefs…I am now truly living a very happy and fulling life!
