We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Yvette Tomassini a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Yvette, thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
For me to be successful, you need to have that hunger and drive within yourself in order to succeed. Setting goals and working hard to achieve them is the greatest accomplishment you can do for your confidence and well being. I see success as being happy,healthy, and seeing my family thriving in thier endeavors.
Yvette, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Our company, the power up hub, is a unique product that provides business owners a charging port for their customers that will run multiple advertisements from local businesses. The innovative design, which is completely wireless, gives you the ability to charge your phone while waiting for a DR. appointment, a dance lesson or even at the bar while you have your drink. What sets us apart is that this is an original concept that you don’t see currently in any business but wish you did. I am most proud to be able to offer a solution to people’s every day problems. Let’s face it, we are in a technological era, the one thing we can all agree on is we need a fully charged electronic. If this fills a need and makes people happy than it makes me happy. How’d you meet your business partner?
I have two business partners who I trust and respect for their dedication and hard work. Andrea Neveroski is our point person as the Director of Sales and loves to get to know people on all levels. We have been best friends for over 20 years. Her background in bartending is perfect for listening to client needs. Francisco Rodriguez is our Marketing and Social Media Guru. His years of experience gives our clients the edge when working with web design, social media content and analysis of target audiences. We actually met at a farmers market and his brilliant mind and professionalism is what drew me to work with him.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I was born and raised in New Jersey and moved to Florida 15 years ago to give my daughter a better life. I worked my way to becoming a General Manager in the hospitality field, after many years working for corporate companies I always dreamed of owning my own business. Today I am the Co Founder of the Power Up Hub, LLC. Where I can utilize my passion for Art and creativity. My biggest struggle in the beginning was believing in myself to trust that I could leave my comfort zone and as a single parent making sure I could provide for my daughter. Having all this self-doubt and concerns were my biggest roadblocks in the beginning of my journey to being self-employed. I was lucky to have loving people around me who encouraged me to take that step and move forward into fulfilling my dreams.
