Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yury Escobar. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Yury thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The inspiration behind my mission was to establish a beauty salon dedicated to empowering women and enhancing their confidence. My vision is inclusive, ensuring that every woman feels beautiful both inside and out. I aim for each client to leave feeling more self-assured than ever after their services.
I wanted to create a safe haven where women can express themselves while receiving beauty treatments—essentially a therapeutic experience. We all need a little bit of therapy in our life so why not come and vent while getting beautified. Additionally, I’ve opened my salon to allow other estheticians to rent space and collaborate as a team, fostering a supportive and creative environment.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
At 35 years old, I am a passionate esthetician and massage therapist with over eight years of experience in esthetics and five years in massage therapy. My journey began with a desire to help others, though I wasn’t sure of my career path in my early twenties. Juggling multiple jobs, my life took a transformative turn when I discovered I was pregnant with my first daughter. This pivotal moment motivated me to pursue a fulfilling career that would provide a better future for both of us.
I enrolled in esthetician school, graduating within a year and obtaining my license in 2008. My early professional experiences included working at various beauty shops and at Ulta, which was my first job post-esthetics school. However, I soon realized that my extensive experience warranted a different path. Determined to take control of my career, I decided to start my own business, focusing on facials and other services from home.
As my client base grew, the demand for my services prompted me to find a dedicated space for my practice. Now, I proudly operate my own shop, utilizing both my esthetics and massage therapy licenses. My services range from microdermabrasion and dermaplaning facials to lymphatic and post-operative massages, helping clients recover after surgery. I genuinely enjoy both aspects of my work, finding fulfillment in the positive impact I have on my clients’ lives.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I maintain communication with my clients by providing them with regular updates regarding my services. Additionally, I solicit their feedback after completing my work to ensure continuous improvement. I send special offers to my clients during holidays, utilizing the Vagaro system to automate this process. This allows me to efficiently send out text messages or emails with promotions. I prioritize maintaining strong relationships with my clients and strive to show appreciation for their loyalty by offering exclusive discounts, encouraging them to continue booking my services.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
While working at my main job, I pursued my side hustle by offering facials from home. I began by providing services to close family and friends, gradually investing in my own equipment. All I needed to start were a massage bed, a steamer, a light, and my essential tools and products. I still have my original equipment, which holds sentimental value. I initiated my business by offering facials at a rate of $50 to attract clients. To provide my services, I transformed a small storage room into a dedicated service space. Word of mouth played a significant role in my growth, as I had a steady stream of clients. Managing all my clients in my home became overwhelming, I made the decision to rent a separate space. This pivotal moment prompted me to leave my full-time job and fully commit to growing my business. As my business continued to expand over the years, I upgraded to a larger shop where I constructed two additional rooms, which I now rent out. Currently, my business is thriving and attracting new clients consistently.
