We were lucky to catch up with Yung Jewelz recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Yung , thanks for joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My mom always encouraged me and supported me every step of the way. Not once was I told doing music was a bad choice or I should find something else. Her having faith in me pushed me to continue to grow. She’s impacted my career by giving me the comfort in knowing she supports all my career moves, knowing she’s my number one fan allows me to keep pushing forward because I’m always trying to impress her.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am Yung Jewelz also known as The Paid Hipster, I am the owner of PaidHipster Music and most importantly I’m an artist. I’ve been making music majority of my life , as a kid I became musically inclined playing several different instruments such as the violin and percussion instruments. From there my love for music turned into writing where I found to be my strong suit and my place to escape. I began recording and releasing music and performing publicly in 2016. What sets me apart from others is my style and versatility , you never know what to expect from me and I think that’s what my fans appreciate the most. I’m most proud of the things I’ve accomplished while still being in my hometown, a lot of times as artist we feel like we can’t grow where we are but that’s not always the case.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I actually went to school for audio engineering and at the time we had serval courses on management and music business, that was very helpful because it was informative and gave me a better insight on things I needed to know.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Being able to meet people and make a difference to them, whether it’s hearing how a song may have inspired them or impacted them in a way I never would’ve imagined. Seeing my music bringing people together to have a great time no matter how long it may last there’s always the memories.
